| The best of luck to everyone for this race. Due to the absolutely lousy planning that has led to the clash with the Tiptree 10, I will not be there myself. I will, however, see some of you at Tiptree on Sunday where you can tell me all the war stories! |

Update from the Junior races.
U13 Girls - we had Chloe, Nimah and Antonia in this race. All ran really well, even though Chloe collided with a tree enroute. They all finished strong and Ant was 10th. Waiting for the results for others.
U13 Boys - we had Adam, AlexS and Jim in this one. All started very strong and looked great on the course. Adam just narrowly beat AlexS and Jim was superb in his first race and had a well deserved hotdog to finish !
George Elliot (one of our boys) won this age group but ran (was poached) by Eastwood School to run for them. never mind, our conscious is clear so well done George !
U15 Girls - lone runner Georgina was flying, but again she also had a tumble in the woods and was overtaken by a few. Finished strong with a smile.U15 Boys - newby AlexH had a cracking first race, although suffered on the hills. And James had a great run finished well up the field.
Well done all, and you did yourselves proud.

Think I'll buy Georgina some skateboard pads! Excellent stuff from all the juniors - when I was that age I'd do anything to try and swerve school XC and they're all doing it voluntarily on a Sunday. Hats off to all!
Good turnout for the seniors too. Shame Mike went the wrong way through! Nice of him to give the oldies a chance. Ho ho ho. |

| Yayy, top ten finish for the boys - that's a first. Lads were 11th after round one last year with the laydeez 2nd. Now we're 6th & the lasses 4th - is the gap closing???? |

special mention i think should go to adam? in the u13s boys race , very nervous before the start, got pushed around on the start by a much bigger lad and came through to finnish 6th , i think he was in about 14th coming up the final hill.
well done to the blokes great turn out and to get 6th without jez and i heard graham was going to take it easy.
sorry to graham , i think you were just behind me when my calf packed up and i think i might have been swearing just a bit..... shame i as we could have had a much better result. _________________ one solution would be to kill voronin, thereby exponentially improving the squad. in fact, set fire to him in protest at hicks and gillett |

Totally agree.
There were some big, fast boys, and girls in the races, and for some of our Juniors running their first races they all did very well.
quote from one of our juniors (who also runs for his school):
| Quote: | | more better supported when he ran for Benfleet - a much better team spirit |
Nice to hear !
Funny, one of the dads said to me he couldn't fathom out why we were cheering for all the juniors, whilst other teams only cheered for their runners.
I said that was because we were nicer |

Great turnout by the lads, I would say we were near full strength minus Jez, Keiron, Colin, Graham C....blimey, we have quite a bit of depth. Sorry boyos for going the wrong way, mostly my own fault but the spectators all just watched as I went on up the hill until Coach turned me around. I feel like i'm coming back to full fitness, hopefully I'll be back on the ball in a few weeks. And sixth overall was a cracking effort. Young Matt is the 2010 Mike Briggs.....just quicker! Graham cruised past me effortlessly a mile in, 1-2 maybe on for Dunton for him and the champ.
Special mention for Charlotte finishing 8th in the Senior Womens race, I'm sure it wont be long until Essex are on the phone! |
