And I'm rapidly thinking of some for 13 Dec and 3 Jan  :blackeye:

this is great news (for me anyway) about time benfleet entered it.

dont know about the distances , id asume they are longer as when i last did one i was 17/18  and the distance was about 4 miles for that age group. so id imagine the senior races would be 6 miles+.

as for the courses they were mostly pants compared to the other league we are in.
i asume the southend one is at belfairs ? that would probably be the most scenic and rugged , but was mostly flat .

colchester if its the same course is at the university grounds which are mostly football pitches but there is a bit of a monster hill .

dont know about the other races but to give you an example , 1 i did was on canvey on the fields behind waterside .thurrock on the fields by blackshots and another right by the a13 just after the tilbury turn off (a bit like stubbers but less hilly).

oh and i think the last time i did the complete series , i won ! bring it on  bom

Thank you Steve but I fear you flatter me.  I was putting on a brave face Thursday so I didn't disgrace myself with my running partners - the Essex 10k champ and the elite marathon runner  cyclops Scary!

I think it is terrific we are in another x-country league and I'll be delighted to see all the other ladies do really well in this.  If anyone needs to borrow some nearly new x-country spikes I have just the pair at the back of my shoe cupboard  :blackeye:

Now where's the next flat road race... ??bounce  bounce

Andy, yes anyone can run in this for us providing you are first claim for Benfleet. It will be similar to the Sunday x-country league so you won't need to pre-enter, just turn up on the day and run  bounce

Hi guys just back from Venice so only just seen your posts.  Yes Mike that's a dinner date!  And Andy - me running scared?  Nah never just not running at all on x-countries!!  Unless Coach insists....

Or I suddenly get a moment of madness...

Anyway Andy still savouring my 1st ever time of beating you in a race at Southend half - need to go out on a high point, I might retire now!!   compress

This is excellent that Benfleet have entered the Essex league. I can't say that I'm looking forward to racing against the ladies rather than with them though!
