I'll be in the Lake District that week. Are you offering audio/web chat facilities?
Will there be biscuits? |

Just found the sub-web and minutes of first meeting.
1. I favour the North to South run for the reasons made at meeting
2. re the JO GLE on womans T-shirts and the connotations. I favour this strapline across one's shorts under the main banner - 'Caring Club - My Arse '(seperated across both cheeks). On my shorts would be the additional line - 'you will not see these pert buttocks JO GLE'ing. Karl I would like the Committee to investigate whether it is possible to get all this hand stitched on my shorts.....
3. I favour running at night as well for the reasons made at meeting _________________ 'sometimes I am running so fast it appears that rocks and trees are standing still......' 'I may be slow, but you are ugly and I can train harder.' '90% is mental, the other half is physical'it's going to get a lot worse, before it gets worse'. |

My suggestions would be as follows:
1. We take the shortest route from North to South. This will reduce days on the road, meaning that accommodation costs and time away from work can be reduced.
2. We run during daylight hours only. This will still allow around 15 hours a day, 7 miles per hour would cover 105 miles. In a route of around 1000 miles this would only take 10 days and would allow time for everyone to recuperate and socialise. This would also give added safety of not having to run down dark country roads with no pavement/busy city estates of a night time - though I'm sure we have people to scare off any would-be muggers!
3. Our route would roughly comprise of following A99 out of John O Groats, into the A9 - past Loch Ness, down to Loch Lomond and Dumfries. Cross the English border by Carlisle - then run through Cumbria/Lancs, straddling the Welsh border until Bristol, then turn for Devon and Cornwall to finish.
If we could keep the time spent on the route down then I could join for the whole route running a leg a day if needed.
Keiron. |

On the catering front
Might I suggest the host gets in some Bourbon Biscuits, and may I propose we make these the Biscuit of choice for LeJog.
If unavailable Iced Gems always go down well |

Lemon Puffs, surely.
But I don't think we should be making these sort of decisions on our own...
Bourbons, official biscuit of LeJog2010...how very dare you ! |

Just something to put on the Agenda
And in no way detracting from your Citrus preferences !!!
Just Bourbon’s are so practical :
Transportable .. Tend not to break or crumble
Bite Size …
Pure Chocolate filling …
The list goes on …. |

| Quote: | | I fear I am going to upset some of you, but I have an opinion of the Bourbon biscuit, some what similar to that of Jennifer Lopez. Both are when described sound lovely and are greatly admired. However I find my self somewhat underwhelmed. I often feel that I'm missing the point with the Bourbon biscuit and by rights should like it a lot more than I do. However, I find that Iwill frequently pass it over , frequenting as it does biscuit assortments, in favor of biscuits with apparently lesser charms. I can quite imagine that some people think that this is about as good as it gets, I'm just not one of them. None the less I still have a great deal of respect for the Bourbon, being as it were one the elder statesmen of the biscuit tin, and showing the Johnny come lately biscuits a thing or two about biscuit design. |

I think we need to recruite members for the LeJog Biscuit sub-commitee.
(I favour Jaffa Cakes, but as we all know they are not biscuits) |

I will not be able to make the meeting, as I have a business trip to the Isle of Man later this week.
I would be prepared to do things like help drawing up a route planner and identifying accommodation along the route (if applicable). And, depending on the length of the trip, come along and run a leg each day.
Keiron.
