Club 20th Anniversary:  With a history of putting on “Challenging Events” – Benfleet to Lands End and Back, Run Across America, Run the length of the Thames from source to the sea, - it was suggested that we do something for our 20th anniversary in 2010.
After discussing various alternatives, it was decided we would plan to do Lands End to John O’Groats or vice versa, as a relay so that as many of the club as possible could take part.  In principal it would be along the lines of the Thames Path run with groups of runners joining the run at various points along the route.  To this end we are asking members to go on to our website to register their interest (or state “No interest whatsoever”) so that we can get a feel as to whether we should pursue this idea.  Let us know if you are interested in taking part either just as a runner or as a runner and part of the planning committee.  If enough interest is shown we will set up a Committee of, say 6 members to organize the event.  Probable date for the event would be late spring/early summer 2010.

As long as you're not as ill as you were in 2000 ..... You'll breeze it

If Paddy wants an easy ride he can always pace me along

On the organization front

Any of the above willing to step forward and join the organization committee  ?

This won’t happen unless we work at it

I would like to run a stretch.
How far are we talking about?
I don't mind where I run but I think 30 miles might be my limit in one session.  Probably 5 to 6 hours.
Ernie will probably volunteer for the other 600 miles!

Yes a marathon a day sounds good. Would that fit in with any other plans?
