Hi,

Had a look at Coach's teamlist last night ... Leg 7ers are:

A: Steve Desborough
B: Ernie Jewson
C: Me ... Mike Grout
D: Louisa Latham
E: Jo Burtonshaw

Just wondering if anyone would like to meet up for a reccie of the route?

I am reasonably sure I'm gonna get lost  cyclops

Mike.

Well a very successful days reconnoiter of Leg 7  cheers

Apart from a slight glitch at the start due to West Bergholt having two churches call St Marys!! it all went reasonably smoothly.

Written instructions backed up by OS map support was definately the way forward.

There were a few missing signs, different colour houses and odd directions (nb take care at No.16 the grass triangle at Rivers Hall - it's a definate left turn not ahead) but cross referencing with map kept us on track.

I can't believe the Horse Treadmill at Boxted Hall wasn't listed as a point of reference!

We're gonna try for another run through in a couple of weeks.

Had I tired Ernie out sufficiently at track yesterday to ensure a nice easy run for you today Mike?

And ask Karl about the 2 churches called St Mary's on your leg he waited until the day of the race to find out about that !

I'm on the leg after yours so look forward to cheering you in - just make sure you're quick enough to get in before we start!

I'm reccying my leg on Bank Holiday Monday Dean will be joining me and Nick you are welcome too as I'm quite an asset as I know all the sneaky bits to get ahead of the others!

Ernie did mention you'd given him a good thrashing at the track debs lol

Mr C kept that one quiet ... It really had us stumped for a while trying to get our bearings ... mind you that's what you get for following an aussie tomtom called Ken lol

All being well I should make it for 4:15 ... perhaps I'll run on for the finish at Harwich  cyclops lol

For sure St Mary must have been popular in West Bergholt !

The other coincidence is that both churches are on the Essex Way Course.

Sufficiently tired from Track Session on Saturday is a nice way of putting it, but one thing is for sure and is that I'm glad that it wasn't race day.
