DOUBLE STANDARDS SURELY -
THINK WE ARE ON SERIOUS DODGY GROUND WITH THIS ONE !

Chip or no Chip ?

Hi there

I’ve been looking into these dubious results.

There’s a lot to be said for moving everyone up 1 time slot

The clincher being, according to the official results Ian and Steve Drummond finished in a group covered by 1 second. Ian thinks his time is 10 seconds slow, but Steve’s time is about right.

If we move everyone up one spot, then Ian moves up by 10 seconds, whilst Steve still remains in the group and only moves up 1 second.

This also works for Steff who moves up 10 seconds, which is closer to his personal time, and Steve Dear who moves up 4 seconds, which is also what he would expect.

Looking at all this compelling evidence, as far as the merit table goes I’m going to move up every runner from the club one spot for their official times.

Hope everyone is happy with this.

I realize that steff will still have an extra runner in front of him, but I can only assume he was overtaken in the finish tunnel without realizing it. There’s a lesson to be learnt here, the race for official times isn’t over until you’ve left the tunnel !!

Mike

Mikey -

which figures did you use for this one,
as the race was actually further than 13.1 miles ?

Hi Karl

Life's so unfair !!!!

This tale of woe reminds me of goldie locks & the 3 bear's

Some half's are too long, they're far too hot to handle, you work to hard digesting them. At the end of the day you end up with an unsatisfactory result, and maybe a burnt mouth !!

On the other hand, some half’s are short, you can easily scoff them down, mopping them up in record time. However, you don't get that warm after feeling in your belly, somehow you feel cheated of the full half experience.

But some half’s are just right (usually measured by Clive ), giving you the right time, for the right distance. You leave with the warm feeling of a job done to the best of your abilities on the day, and a true reflection of your current form.

So how can you tell the good half's, from the hot and cold ones ?

You can't ..... You just have to get out there and taste them

That's life ….. No one said it was going to be easy !

It's amazing that everything reverts back to food with you isn't it ?

If the Barking was obviously the wrong times,
then the Roding Valley Half obviously wasn't a half.

Not unfair, fact.

I forgot about her - what time did she do, is she happy with it or does she want to change her time aswell ?

I thinks it's unfair that Pat doesn't get any points...

I will update the list on the results page, and MJ can update the MT.

And everything in the garden is rosy again....
