Benfleet Club Duathlon
Sunday 25th May
9:30 Start
£3:00 Race Entry / Buffet Donation
Our traditional course around Hanninigfield reservoir
3 Mile Run – 15 Mile Cycle – 2 Mile Run
Come along and give it a try, this isn’t an elite race, its designed as an introduction to multi-sport events.
Anyone from the club can do it but if you feel the whole event would be to much, then how about entering a team ( one runner , one cyclist )
Either let me know through the Forum / Website or put your name down on the list at the club.
The presentation hall and Buffet are booked , we just need the competitors !!

Not sure about this one ...
Doing Bupa 10k on BH Monday and I think it'll give Mr Lel an unfair advantage if I'm all duathloned out.
Might drag bike out of garage and see if it still works. |

Please put me down for the duathlon Mr J.
I am also running the 10km the next day ,
albeit under the guise of one of my clients who can no longer do it. |

So Keen I think I'm entered twice on the club wall, so may as well enter here also.
Not sure about whether I will have recovered form the Baddow 10 the week before if it's as hot as today _________________ Whad'ya mean "Run fat boy, run"? I AM running! |

That's a shame
Was going to confidently predict that I'd finally get a better bike split than her this year.
Typical !!! |

| Well, I had been using the race on the Bank Holiday Monday as an excuse not to do the duathlon (I had offered to help Mike though). Doesn't seem as if that is a good excuse anymore. So looks as though i will have to put my name down, unless another excuse can be found. Now lets see....... |

Good thinking Mike H
Think everyone doing the BUPA 10k should now also enter the Duathlon, so as not to gain an unfair advantage on Monday. |

Put me down for the Duathlon please Mike, if anyone is interested I am cycling to the Baddow 10 this sunday. Not going mad, just a gentle ride there and back.
I am also doing the London 10k on the Monday, providing i can still walk properly. Just took the bike for a 20 mile ride and now have pretty sore legs.
Cheers

Debbie,
Any news on whether a runner is needed? Also, what time and where do we meet?

Mike - sorry Jim has asked someone else. Maybe Mikey would let you just do the run anyway even if you can't be in a team and can't score overall.
Is that possible Mikey? |

Unfortunatly its an open road event
Can't stop people riding round without a cycle helmet
( It's not against the law .... YET )
But anyone without a Helmet won't be in the race
ie Won't be enterd in the results |

It was a bit close for the Handicap places, 1st to 3rd separated by less than 30 seconds
How about starting people off in order of handicap time next year, then if the handicaps work out correctly it would end up in a mass finish _________________ Whad'ya mean "Run fat boy, run"? I AM running! |
