Is it just me or does that look rather hilly? |

Just a tad hilly.....I used to live in Hove and know Devils Dyke well, hang gliders use it to run off and are immediately a couple of hundred feet up !
Hope it went well chaps....shame i had to miss it but this morning in Bristol i did run 7 miles at 10 minute pace on the flat and can empathise with how you must be aching now..... _________________ Beware of the Albatross |

Well I had a good run in perfect weather.
Unoffical Times were myself 3 hours 53 mins and Mike Mason with Hamsprings Problems 5 hours 05 mins.
Not bad since this is a 27.2 mile race as well.
Might have to change my Avatar though! |

Well done Ernie....good weather ??
I'll have to change my signature then...
Hope Mike's hamsprings are ok....he says you're a weather jinx but maybe your talents go further than that...
One in my diary for next year.... _________________ Beware of the Albatross |

Hey guys well done. Hope you are okay Mike and legs aren't too painful. Ernie that's seriously impressive for someone who doesn't like hills. You put me to shame as I bottled out of the hilly race I briefly contemplated doing this year. Very briefly.... |

Well Ernie had a flier. For someone who will be 70 next year he never ceases to amaze me. I had the best first half of the race ever.....and unfortunately the worst back half. With the wheels coming off at 17 miles when my left hamstring started cramping and forced me to walk most of the back half. Schoolboy error of a combination of setting off too fast and not having enough long runs under the belt ie being properly trained (longest being 13 miles training run with Ernie and Andy last month). See Laws of Running on Forum.
Still ..good thing is feel fine now, no return of injuries and can start some proper training shortly..... _________________ 'sometimes I am running so fast it appears that rocks and trees are standing still......' 'I may be slow, but you are ugly and I can train harder.' '90% is mental, the other half is physical'it's going to get a lot worse, before it gets worse'. |
