I will be spectating (or running shame to let it go to waste).

If anyone wants (Lorri?) me to hand out jelly babies drinks etc please let me know Ill probably be around the 17-18 mile point seeing who looks dodgiest for a finish.

Maybe Ill actually run one day!

Im summarising so may not get times precisely spot on.

Jez did something like 2.47 or 2.48 which was about 8-9 minutes away from what he wanted.

Paul Horsely did 3.13 and was pleased.

My friend Kerry (1st marathon) did 3.44 and was chuffed to bits.

Dont know about others.

It was (in massive contrast to last years 23-24 degree heat) a chilly 4 degrees and rather too cold for decent marathon running.

the french excel in quality things on a small scale ie they do a good bottle of wine or baguette for afters rather a dodgy sarnie but cant really organise a start or a readily available supply of toilets or energy drinks at the drinks stations (every 5K as opposed to Londons every mile).

Since struggling to paste the above, it looks like you have to read Kerry, instead of Lucy.

Just to go over a few things about this race from my point of view for anyone thinking about doing it in the future. You can enter and know you are in which certainly helps to focus the mind from the start. As far as organisation goes it is not as smooth as London. The baggage drop is a bit of a nightmare, too few loos, and only water on the aid stations every 5 km, so only 8 in total.Of which only the last one had any energy type drink-which to me was too little too late.It is however a good fast start but not as fast over all as London. It has a few hills and it is not as well supported as London. It is however run through an amazing city and if you just want to run a marathon regardless of time, I would recommend it(but carry your own drink!)

I hope for all those running London it is not as cold. And if its your first marathon even if it is still cold make sure to drink a little at each aid station, you will still be dehydrated by the end!

Does anyone know how Lorri and Lorraine got on?Andy F shouted at me a couple of times (cheers!)but I didnt see them after!

Both Lorri and Lorraine had a Great Run, both getting P.B's in the process. Now all they have to do is get ready for London.

thanks for all your lovely comments guys...

I have to agree with Jez the Paris Marathon is not aswell organised as London, I ended up giving my bag to Andy as it was a nightmare at the baggage drop off.  Lorraine & I was in the queue for the loo for so long we were 2mins late for the start of the race so had to start at the very back.  Saying that it didn't take long to get over the start line which surprised me (only 12mins).
I was so glad that I took my own drink as there was not enough drinks stations & no energy drinks which would of been a nightmare if it was hotter.  I enjoyed the course but was annoyed with the spectators hogging the road, after 12 miles all us runners were bottled necked at least 5 times where the gap was only about a metre wide.  You couldn't even see the blue line & thats important when your a fast athelete like myself, come to think of it thats why i didn't beat Jez.
Saying that I would recommend Paris as overall I really did in enjoy it, even if the beer after did cost a small fortune...
