I really seem to be picking them this year.
Did this on Sunday. Another tough event, 21 miles around the Edale valley in the Peak District. The first bit wasn't too bad, a few hills, good running ground, felt great.
But the second half was a totally different kettle of frogs. Boggy, wet, many peat hags, very difficult to run through. The bogs just zapped my energy. This was made worse because I didn't take on enough fuel before getting to them. Had to stop for 5 minutes or so while I took on gels and a bar Still I finished in 4:32, 196 position.
Great event, great weather, well organised. Another one to enter into the ever bulging diary for next year.
Mark
