Due to our Cross Country clashing with most organised events, we are organising a 1 mile (and possibly 3 mile) run for Sport Relief.
It is being organised by Benfleet Juniors Running Club,
but we want as many adult members/parents/friends to participate as well.

Brilliant turn-out this morning. Over 30 runners, and we collected over £ 70 today, with £ 40 already donated online, and further sponsor money coming in next week. GREAT EFFORT.

Sport Relief fever took over Benfleet Running Club on Saturday morning when, in the spring sunshine, over 30 members took part in their own Sport Relief mile. The event was jointly organised between Benfleet Running club, and their junior section Benfleet Juniors Running Club, with the majority of the runners being under 18. The mile lap on the Recreation Ground, Benfleet meant runners could do 1, 3 or 6 miles. The 1 mile run was won by up-and-coming junior Andrew Hair, and the only runner to complete the 6 mile run was junior member Liam Clark, although the real winners were Sport Relief with runners donating a minimum £ 1.00 to compete.
Money raised so far is well over £ 120, with further sponsor money to be collected. |
