Received this email last night..
| Quote: | Hi,
I am a neighbour of your club meeting point in Brook Road, Benfleet, as well as a solo runner myself.
I am very disappointed in the attitude and parking of your club members and their families. On a couple of occasions I have had to struggle to swing out of or into our driveway as your members have parked on both sides of the approaching road to the park and right up to our boundary.
But this evening just about 'takes the biscuit'! I had to ask a woman who was picking someone up to move off of our driveway!! She was parked on our drive and told me she was only going to be a minute. I dont think she would be happy for someone to park on her driveway would she?
I thought you were all fit people, so is it too much to ask that your members park and walk a bit? There is plenty of parking further up Brook Road as well as Hope Road and would take a matter of 1 minute to walk!
Would you please speak to your runners before your club meeting next and ask them to be considerate of neighbouring houses and driveways, and in particular when being picked up!
Thankyou,
Regards.
A neighbour. |

I can feel for the person who wrote in. If that incident had happened in Rayleigh the driver would probably be hanging from a lamp post... Seriously, I think a letter from the Club apologising is warranted....
Jezz...regarding the biscuits what happened? have they gone astray again?? _________________ 'sometimes I am running so fast it appears that rocks and trees are standing still......' MM, I have apologised via email
(for those in Hockley - Electronic mail (email for short) is simply a way of sending letters or computer files via the internet - the difference being that instead of a letter dropping through someone's letterbox, it appears on their computer screen.) |

Two club runs now and no sign of tea or biscuits, I will have to go back to lurking around the Rayleigh/ Rawreth boundary if the biscuit barrel doesn't appear soon.
PS I got into the car park OK so far _________________ Whad'ya mean "Run fat boy, run"? I AM running! |
