trained on the course on satarday and ive never seen the place so dry at this time of year. although i only ran it as a warm up i think you could do the race in road shoes . there were a few patches of mud that can be avoided and about 5m of greasy mud about 600m from the finish.
unless theres much rain in the week it can only get dryer.

well done to all that ran and finished as quite a few people did pull out due to the terrain. To Kev, John and Philip hope the injuries get better soon.

But what happened to some of our fast guys??!!

Jez, Ian, Kev, Stuart Watson and Steve Dear all made a showing but what about the rest? Thank our lucky stars that the Whittakers turned up at the last minute, Mike, Paul and Stephen! If they had not our total score would have been 333, good enough for last place. what excuses have the guys got hey, knowing that we needed to beat Thrift Green (hopefully into 3rd) to stay within scoring distance at our own X-Country in 2 weeks time. My apologises for sounding so airiated but I was in charge this morning. I now wish I had been running instead of doing the team results.

On a better note our ladies once again did us proud indeed. My hats off to you ladies for continually scoring highly and consistently

1st    Karen Goode
2nd   Catherine Stunt
4th    Jacqui Watson
5th    Vanessa Dodds
7th    Louisa Latham
19th  Nicola Goode

Thrift Green finished 1st with 103 points, Benfleet 154 pts, Billericay 171 pts

Lets see if we can them to change the rules next year so its the first 7 ladies and 3 men that score and not the other way round as it is now  compress
