I will see if I can fall over for the second week in a row if you want Pete, just leave a large stone/ rock in the ground at the point where you are taking photos and I will see what I can do!.

Well done to everybody that ran today, some very impressive times considering how windy it was.
Support today was great, thanks Pete the young one for the encouragement on the way round - top stuff |

Well done Stevie, I know you did a good time.
Thanks to the supporters, those shouts of "come on Benfleet" keep you going just enough !
Legs just about got me home, thanks to Susanne for dragging me along, especially the last 2 miles, really pleased with time too.....wasn't it gusty !!
Good work all !! |

I stayed for the results Julia Palmer, Lorna and Louisa won the Essex Champs team silver. Well done ladies. Julia got over 45's silver, Lorna won the race over 35's trophy and got Essex bronze. Brilliant ladies, really well done!!
Not to be outdone Paul Todd took over 40's silver medal. Well done Toddy awesome time in the wind - 1:17 !!
I would also like to say I briefly held the o45's bronze medal till it was discovered they'd made a mistake and I was actually 4th. Ah well easy come easy go...!
You were right Deb S I should have made a run for it with the medal!
Well done Steve (Dear) - finally a half marathon time you deserve (I bet you shudder now to think of us running the Southend half together!) And I didn't tell Ian your time!! Hope you did though!
Well done to all who ran today there were some excellent times and very impressive to hear of so many PB's in difficult conditions.

Well done ladies, Great performances all round.
Pretty tough conditions today, but I think everybody should be pleased with their times. A great course, but just a little bit too breezy today.
Thanks for the great support around the course and at the finish.

Thanks Steve, before this race my PB was 1 hour 46, the same as you got today so keep training hard and improving as you are and you will be running with me in no time
Thanks too Debbie, that's nice of you to say, i'm going to run harder at Paddock Wood and see if I either blow up too early or can shave some more mins off that time.
That's annoying about the bronze medal but i'm sure there are more medals to come your way.
Well done Paul, thats amazing running there, and well done ladies for for winning the Silver - great stuff |

Well done guys.
Result puts me in first 50% just, cool ! Improvement on previous races, all going in the right direction.
Also got reasonable movement in all limbs so all hail to improved fitness and big love to Benfleet Running Club....I have had possibly one too many JDs but I deserve it |

well done to all, that was some nasty weather today. I took photos at 1, 3 and 11 miles and all you guys were going so fast at 3 some of the pics have come out blurry. Good to see everyone enjoying the race and smiling at the camera. already sent to Karl so should be up soon.
The PB's i definitely know about were Steve, Lorna and Graeme Newman, and I think a few others ran PB's but not sure.
Steve I'm gonna have to work really hard now if i'm going to try and catch you before the end of the year! Can't you slow down a bit just for me, please, haha. well done tho, perseverance through injury and a PB well deserved.
Andy, I couldn't find any rocks big enough so theres a good pic of you still standing and smiling at the camera.

I think Louisa's small 18 minute PB might be worth a mention too!! And her first Essex medal good work Louisa.
It was also Sarah G's 1st half marathon and a PB I believe for Jo. Well done girls.
I'm pretty sure it was a PB for Suzanne too both she and Steve H were well chuffed with their times and rightly so excellent work guys.
Good pics Pete I like the blurred one of me makes me look like I was going fast |

Believe Lorna also got a 15 min plus PB
Will have to talk to Karl ....
Usually don't start Merit Table until Roding Valley 1/2M !!!
I'm sure Karl will be generous and make this the first race of the season
Or will he ? |
