Any ware I can find the distance of each race, as I may do a few races as a training run and six miles is the furthest I run so far.
If all the runs are this distance it might be a bit far for me?

Don't worry Ian
All the distances are less than 6 miles ... Usually around the 4 mark
However, as they're off road, can be muddy, and often have hills in them, it can seem like a hard 4 miles !!! |

the ones i did last year
stubbers 4.41 miles
benfleet 4.14
weald pk 4.32
i think the one tree hill rnd is the longest
stubbers is probably a good one to start out on ian as its multi lap. but its by far the most uninteresting and a bit exposed to the wind. |

Ian, I am sure you will get around them all but they are hard and quick and there arent that many newcomers that do them ie it can be a bit lonely at the back.
Stubbers is by far the hardest on the sheer boredom front. It is the most dreadful mindnumbing combination of loops around A lake and A hill `the telly tubby hill' taken at a couple of approaches and I would beware of a newcomer being completely put off. However it is probably the flattest and one of the easiest to support. The others are all far more scenic (if you get the chance to appreciate it), interesting and potentially enjoyable.
Ours is the hardest and often the longest. I think S Weald is one of the shorter easier and still scenic ones.
Bear in mind I am biased as spend most of the winter months dreading the cross countries. _________________

Ian
I did my first cross country on Sunday - treated it like a training run and tried not to get carried away with all those fast people - and it was OK!. Despite the rain and the wind and the boring course - in fact the mud was quite FUN!
You'll be fine - give it a go - there were other cross country first timers there from the other clubs too
And then theres the cakes afterwards |

Cross country is great! No time pressure, varied surface, an improved complexion after the mud effects....the list is endless!
Well done you first timers for braving it out there! Hope you've caught the xc bug and will be at the rest of the leagues |
