Advertising on our website..??
this only refers to our main website, and not these forum pages..
I have been approached about putting a advert-pod on our main page (about 2" square) for a price-comparision-type website.
This would bring in revenue for the Junior Section (as I pushed this as a reason for using them) and wanted to ask peoples thoughts on this...
assuming it was a tasteful, un-obtrusive advert and was related to running-stuff that we might find usefull..
let me know your thoughts please.........
I have asked for the coding for this advert, so I can do mock-up page to show everyone what it will look like before I say yes..

Seems like a good idea to me, a good source of income for the juniors!

Karl,
I've hit the 'yes' option but with a minor proviso: if it is likely to only bring in pocket money then I'd leave it ad-free.
Otherwise I've got no problems with this idea.
Cheers,
John. |

I am ok with raising dosh via site..especially if converted into biscuits on a regular basis which can then be stolen...................

ps I thought I had got over it even with MM2 giving me a pack...but the hurt was visceral........ _________________ 'sometimes I am running so fast it appears that rocks and trees are standing still......' 'I may be slow, but you are ugly and I can train harder.' '90% is mental, the other half is physical'it's going to get a lot worse, before it gets worse'. |

MM1 - if we buy biscuits then they will legally belong to the Junior Section and as such you won't be able to steal them. Plus, we would probably only buy jammy dodgers and party rings...
Jack - tend to agree. the google-ads I had running have (to date) earned $ 1.75.
But this "seems" to be a better option, with payment up-front on a yearly basis. Also, the Junior Section has no money at the moment so we need all the pocket money we can get.
This is pounds, rather then pence. |

Hiya - just an update on this.
As you can see the Shopzilla web ad is now on the main page.
Hope it isn't too offensive. I think it is OK, and have clicked the links and used it for looking at running shoes...
comments anyone...? |

UPDATE
Ok, the Shopzilla advert on the main page has been running for 7 months or so.
It will be renewed (auotmatically, hopefully) in September.
Just a call to arms (or fingers, really) for people to click thro the adverts on the SHOPZILLA advert on the main page,
upping our useage and to increase our chances of being renewed...cheers. |
