Was told about this 'Come and Try an O' event by one of the Springfield Striders on the way back from the FRA Navigation course. Sounds a good way of dipping a toe into the sport.

More info here http://stragglers.info/event/20070929.php

Can turn up and have a go between 10am and 2pm. I'm aiming to be there about 1 ish.

Mark

Have a good time on Saturday running around the nature reserve at Hanningfield. A number of small courses were laid out, the biggest one being an orange course of 3.5K with some checkpoints just off path. Ran it in about 29mins which included messing up one checkpoint.

I would do more orienteering again. May not go very far to do an event as they are a bit short for me, but was told that Havering organise a number of events around this area. I would also recommend it as a family type event too, as many of the courses are developed for jumiors in mind. So the adult(s) can go and run the orange course competitvely and then go off with the kids to compete on the white (easy) course afterwards.
