Not keen on the 4 people to a lane.

Feel a bit sory for the people in my lane suffering from my swimming techique as well as my problem with going in a straight line.

4 in a lane should be ok

As everyone in the lane at the same time should be going at approx the same pace.

Assuming everyone gave their correct estimated swim time that is !!!

If you catch someone ... tap them on the feet a few times before the end of the length.

Hopefully they will let you through .... IF NOT SWIM OVER THEM !!!

If you find your feet being tapped, let the swimmer though.

Not only will it stop a fight,
But you will be able to draft them for a few lengths, giving yourself a faster overall swim time

PS ... Eyes open ... Looking foward ... Helps with directional issues

Have seen the swimming over people technique used at the London Tri. Come to that I have seen a mass fight at the start of the swim as well.

It's all part of the triathlon experience. Next time I'm going to wear an amoured wetsuit and take a baseball bat with me blackeye

You should be OK, Mike. Blackwater is a good tri for novices. I'm sure all of you will enjoy it.

thanks Mike
Can honestly say I'm still on a high from yesterday, it was very hard, but i loved every minute of it, I definitely will be doing more in the future, and have already vowed to myself that I will do the olympic distance in the London Tri next August! Bring it on!

thanks to all the came to support ( Lyn, Lorna and Graham) and well done all...Especially Kirste who dreaded it as much as me, but did brilliantly.

I strongly recommend all out there try a triathlon - you'll love it!!!

Well done Anna & Kirste, I hope to see you both at many more Tri's (a good reason to come back and visit).

If I can improve my running times, I will be hot on your heels Anna!!

I enjoyed being the first Benfleet runner to cross the line by a few seconds. However, I ended up on the last page of the results again. angryfire

thanks Ian! Get training and the race is on!!

Mike for the record...you're distance conversions are way out, you've underdone us massively!!!

FYI.. the cycle was 14.3 miles and the run 3.7 miles.

that feels better, now I dont feel as slow!!! every little bit counts mike

Yeah though I was wrong with the distances

Unfortunately, didn't have them to hand when I posted, and Blackwater Tri had taken the info off their site ( to efficient by far )

Anyway, 12 miles is a rough approximation to 14,3 !!!

& 3,7 is a bit over 3 Miles !!!

So was on the right lines ( Just )

See you tonight

Mikey
