I was intending to ignore this race but as Karl has now posted the results I feel compelled to defend the honour of Benfleet and say on behalf of myself Graeme N and Graeme M we ran it as a TRAINING run !! And it was very hot. And after 3 miles I couldn't be bothered to even do the training pace I was supposed to. And and....ah well I give in we were just rubbish!

However enough excuses well done Sarah and Jo on your first win - yep despite everything (and more particularly thanks to Julia Palmer) Benfleet got the ladies team prize (4 to score Julia P me Jo and Sarah). I hear it is money so Jo and Sarah are real professionals now! Congratulations and well done Julia for restoring Benfleet pride.

And well done Godfrey and Steve Des for proving that some amongst us can run well in heat!
