Really struggled with training since November and since my last LFOTM outing. Have been back 2 weeks now so this i officially name my comeback race.
If i can do a similar time to my last one i'll be happy even though that was way slower than my best.
ps. I'm going to do May as well

Well
I finished in 28:13, official time 28:15 half a minute slower than December but on reflection not bad on less than 15 mpw. This was also my 3rd week back running. So i'm ok about it.
I'll be back next month, hoping for a quicker time.
But thanks to some RW forumites cheering me on i would have been slower _________________ I'll put something interesting here when i've thought of something, in the meantime heres some music. |

Good to meet you today Mark.
I did my usual trademark thing - went out too fast in the 1st km. watchtime says 28:31. Not too disappointed, only a little.
Theres always next month _________________ I'll put something interesting here when i've thought of something, in the meantime heres some music. |

Good to meet you, too.
I'm still trying to re-hydrate myself after those warm temperatures and the muggy air. 2.5 litres drunk so far since arriving home! And that's not the booze.
Don't worry about doing a fast first km. I always do it at the LFOTM. Don't know why, as it doesn't happen at other races.
As long as my boss agrees to another day off, I'll see you next month. Good luck with the duathlon.

28:15 (2 seconds slower than April but pleased went out slower tried even pacing (sorry got no splits) aiming for a 28 minute finish
A lot of Drama up town, met up with some RW forumites for a bite to eat after the race, left park at 2:30 they weren't letting anyone into the park. Scary! _________________ I'll put something interesting here when i've thought of something, in the meantime heres some music. |

Well today was great - even if i say so myself
27:16 by my watch, 59 seconds faster than last month, using that old method, start fast and hold on for as long as possible
Best thing - i didn't slow down as much in kms 3 and 4 as i usually do

Well done Pammie, excellent run. I knew you were doing well as you almost beat me to the final turn when I popped down there to see you come through!!
I'm also quite happy with my run today. Finally got that under 20 min monkey off my back for this year, 19:42. Still a bit quick off the start and then had a dying moment between 3 and 4Km, but the gravel track sessions on Tuesday running with Ian and Stevie Dear, really helped big time. Relax, stride out, and get back on pace....
Can't wait for Bas now. Stevie, do you want a pace maker again?

You had another great run today, Pammie. And so soon after Barking Park aswell. I'm sure the times will come tumbling down if you keep working as hard as you have been.
Good race today. Another fast field, with Huw Lobb (he of beating the Gee-Gee on the Man vs Horse race) won in 15:16!! Last month's winner must have been working harder as he took 30 secs off July's time to come second in 15:29.
Full results here - http://www.serpentine.org.uk/rdb/showrace.php?race=3741
I did 19:27 today. Quite happy with the run as my calves felt very sore last night after my easy jog. My Km times not as consistent as I hoped, but a move forward to my goal cannot be frowned upon.
MM2 - I'll set out a trail of raffle tickets, pound coins and bottles of wine at the next 5K. That'll get you moving faster..... _________________ The hills are alive........ |

Hi there
I've not done any formal speedwork for a little while so expected this to be evident today. I have started fartlek once a week. Trying to build up the miles back to 30-40 (maybe 50 if i can)
Anyway 26:03 on such a perfect day for running only 11 seconds slower than August 1st km in 5:00 much too fast am pleased and 5 weeks till the next one. _________________ I'll put something interesting here when i've thought of something, in the meantime heres some music. |
