great conditions (for me anyway )very muddy and technical and a few good hills . i came 47th which im pretty chuffed with as i missed 3 weeks running since my last outing at benfleet but improved by another 14 places.
tried to help the team out by putting pressure on crispian bloomfield at the start by challenging him over the first 100m , looks like it worked as he didnt win icon_biggrin.gif" alt="Very Happy" border="0" />
not sure how the team did , spoke to the captain briefly after the finnish he looked a bit peeved off with his 19th place , not sure how the others did but we were missing our leading ladies today but i think the others still held it together well from what i saw.
sending the photos taken by the mrs to karl now . sorry she missed so many of you but she was concentrating on getting me my clothes etc at the finnish _________________ http://www.dtsm.co.uk |

P.S - It was fantastic to see so many Benfleet runners out today, charging through the muddiest xc round so far, you only have to look at the pics to see everyone giving 110%.

Great fun today. Everyone ran their socks off. All 3 girls well inside the top 10 and all the boys in the top 20. Throw in loadsa mud and hills, and we won the cricket!!! Almost a perfect day........almost. Brought my A game, no niggles, cold or hangover, trained well all week, then draughted behind come back kid Tony for the whole race.....and still couldn't catch him. Still, I should be grateful as he towed to my best XC postion and with only 1 race to go he can't overtake me...yayy . I'll have to retire before next season though! |

Well done to all the point scoring girls and boys and everyone who ran what I thought was a very tough course. Proud to be a member of Benfleet Running Club.
From a personal point of view HATED every minute of the run. Too muddy, too hilly, went off too quick, too many of you coming past me. Came 54th, two places better than last time. My wife reckons that was because two of the guys that beat me last time didn't turn up. Thanks !!!
But also totally ecstatic when got back to the car just in time to hear the radio commentary and England stuffing the Aussies. |

just read that crispian bloomfield actually got lost in his own race !
http://www.east-essex-triclub.co.uk/s_essex_x_country.htm
i actually got lost whilst warming up , i was following the course and after the 1st hill where we did a u turn i went straight on as there were no markers there , dont know if there was a marshall there during the race ? cant see where else he could have gone wrong ? _________________ http://www.dtsm.co.uk |
