Ahhhhhh....that was great support from Karl's girls.
Good luck everyone, I'll be trying to check your progress on the website, not sure if it's as efficient as London's.....no notes on the blog yet, unless I'm not looking at the right thing ?
ooo.....la la...how exciting...you can go on the offical Paris Marathon website and see the results as they are happening, kind of.
So far, Lucy Mancer finishes in 3.22.39 (bizarrely representing the United Arab Emirates)...good work.
I'm not going to sit here recording all the results by the way...just felt obliged to advise that you can follow it. Lots of our guys shoudl be finishing round about now....

That is a great run from Sarah - very nearly a good for age! Keep your training up for Halstead and it'll be in the bank. Well done all, fantastic stuff. Like to see the units consumed results tomorrow.....
Text from Karl..but times updated from previous posters. He mentioned that course was hot and crowded but that he was happy.
Well done all

Well done everyone. Heard it was very warm over there _________________ I'll put something interesting here when i've thought of something, in the meantime heres some music.
Had hoped to be a bit quicker, but can't complain as I ran a PB by 8 minutes.
Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and well done on some great running, we should do it again next year!.
Big thanks to Karl for organising the trip and for my training schedule. A special mention should also go to Godfrey for arranging an "interesting" pasta party!.
Just re-remembered someone tried to offer me a glass of red wine at the 35K point whilst I am not on the video I can clearly hear my knackered attempt at Francais ie "non" non please non" as some beret donning peasant tried to pass me a cup of vin rouge. He did give me a flower after that though which was as I was having a crap run appreciated for the moment. _________________

Great effort from all. Some notable mentions go to Mike G , top effort to run with your back and finish!
Sarah excellent running and a great pb. Simon and Jo well done for gritting your teeth when the race doesnt go as planned.(There are always other days!!)
Andy F blinding run, to go under the 3.30 is a fantastic achievment,
Well done and thanks to Karl for organising it all! _________________ Jez

Well a good time seems to have been had by all. Well done as you all worked so hard before during and by the sound of it after. Ispiration if needed to all those taking part in London. (Minus the wine) Glad to hear you are all back safe and well.
Sarah has asked me to pass on a message as she won't be at the club tonight and cannot get on the forum. She says thanks to all of you for your kind comments - especially those from Steve Higgins, Graham & Jez and she's resting her little leggies now!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU - CRACKING PERFORMANCES
Glad to hear everyone is back safe and sound! I really enjoyed the course and the weather was ideal over the weekend if just a wee bit too hot in the run.
The water/feeding stations are every 5km and I have realised a flaw in my race strategy. Andy F told me he didn't stop at any! Unfortunately I felt obliged to stop briefly at every station (I must have sucked the juice out of at least a crate of oranges)and it could well have been MM2 who handed me a glass of boujalais at 22 miles to finally scupper my 4:30 target.
Big Phil gave me a lesson in perseverance as he passed me at this point. He never gives up!
According to my chip time I was 16 stellas past the 4:30 mark! Thanks for the sponsorship MM2, which may seem crazy as I am coughing up, but it was counting lost stellas that kept me moving towards the finish.
Bring on Berlin, I'll cope better at 22 miles with beer rather than wine.
The stellas have already been delivered and are now safely in the hands of Toni Balaam. I walked all the way from Canvey with that box and there was a serious danger they wouldn't get home if I took them back!
I must confess to going continental as I have purchased 16 fine glass bottles of stella rather than tinnies.
Enjoy your skiing
Bob
Great pictures Karl
I am already over the painful memories and have started exaggerating my performance in my own mind!
Aah the green shoots of recovery!
A few of us will be running from Belton Way at 8am on Easter Sunday. Just a short jog recovery down to the Pier and back, then change and back down to The Jolly Roger for a full english breakfast.
Join us for the run, or just rendevous in The Jolly Roger, at 9am ish.
