Inspired by Marks bat run, I decided to take Paddy out for a little night time running through Hockley woods.I have a very old headtorch which seems to resemble a miners lamp and is probably fine for pot holing or climbing but the beam seems very yellow(the batteries where brand new) and didnt light up the path that well.It was a great run and would like to get a better headtorch any suggestions for a good one?

Jezz, you want the Petzl Myo Xp....if you are running through the woods again look out for my old one. Foolishly I put on head to turn on but not quick enough. Ran into a tree branch which almost seperated head from shoulder. Couldn't find headtorch in gloom. Looked next evening in light but no sign...suspect Karl had been about. Now replaced with another XP.....for weight and illumination cannot be faulted.....

Jez,
Whatever Ernie gave me for my nightime run was pretty good. Ernies light didnt stop him falling over though.
Could you call for me and pick Molly up for a run too?
(just a thought) |

This sounds like we could start a sub-section.
"The Benfleet Badgers", for a regular in-the-woods-run ?
When is the next run MM2 ??? |

Welcome to the Batty Club, Jez.....
I normally use my Petzl Myolite3 when running. It's a liitle on the heavier side than the XP but it suits me fine. I also have a Zipka Plus which I bought mainly for the mountain marathons, but I can't run with it as it always seems to be pointing down at my feet rather than where I'm about to go. There's no angle adjustment on it.

| I got a petzl lite (40g ultra light weight) that chucks out plenty of light. Done a few runs over the Downs with it. I love it. |
