Would love to, but its my wedding anniversary. (Thank you God)
Not sure on doing Full Marathons after my London First. Would like to now keep fit and lose weight, so any ideas on that would be welcome |

| Why you interested?? I was going to use it as a hard training run for impending IronMan, but if we have a half decent team out then might have to take it seriously...and we know what happened last time we went for a team prize! |

Yes come on boys think of that Essex medal get out there and run your butts off for Benfleet ! I need some publicity to get on the radio.
And I can tell you I share Mark's view - even if Jackie Shanks has been secretly training and enters on the day or Luce is back to full fitness and intends to run or Julia P also has a fit or madness and turns up for a second marathon in 3 weeks I WILL NOT BE THERE to make up a ladies team!!!!
I'll be thinking of you with my feet up and glass of wine.

| Possibly, have just checked last years results and gold was won with first 3 under 3 hours 10 mins.So it is definately achievable, just as long as its not too hot! Will let you know, got european long course end of june so might not give me enoughtime to recover. |

| Oooh, how exciting. Go on Jez, you could take it easy and still breeze round in a cracking time. Just had a butchers and there is no County Championship entries allowed on the day though, so we need to enter in advance. Let us know and I'll wean myself back off the booze for a couple of weeks!! |

Whilst you’re all on-line
Remember to leave 27th May free for the club Duathlon
Should be fully recovered by then !!
Marathon’s are ok …. But its multi-discipline events which are the true test
Will be interesting to see who really are the “fast boys” & Girls
( hoping you’re be fit Lucy ) …. Determined to beat you on the bike leg this year !! |

Was thinking about getting my other brother to take part this year
That way we should get a “Jordan Boys” clean sweep in the handicap
But if he can’t make it, there’s a third spot going begging
( If the price is right )
What about you Graham ? Proven Ironman training event |

| Steff me old mucker, think Andy who trains with us club nights is running this as his first 26.2 miler. OK, without Jez anchoring the team medal chances might have receded a bit but we can still put in a good club performance. Get off the juice and back in training damn your eyes!!! |

Jez, I am mad I will give u that but insane well thats just mad ...
Now boys, if this race had a half decent t-shirt then maybe, no seriously I can't see any appeal in this race especially a few weeks after Ldn. Anyway my right calf hasn't been right since that hot day & I'm not sure when it will be ok 2 run on it, even Baddow looks doubtful.. So Gra & Stef no pressure just use it as a good training run |

after looking at your winning margin from last year i think its the rest of us that need the handicapping unless there were punctures slowing the others down ?
as for you lot doing another marathon i dont know whether to take my hat of to you or call for a doctor , flippin nutters _________________ one solution would be to kill voronin, thereby exponentially improving the squad. in fact, set fire to him in protest at hicks and gillett |

Honestly you lot. Have you ever heard of training periodisation. No not a girl thing but a way of training that recognises you build towards a race, peak for a race do well then urgh recover..... then start again??????
tis why runners rarely do well at Baddow after a marathon 4 weeks before or get injured.
Sorry Mike - cant do the duathlon as a) you WOULD beat me as I havent been doing any bike miles or proper training and also b) Im off to the brecons that weekend to bag a few peaks! _________________

Lucy I'm gutted
Have been planning my bike peak all year to coincide with our annual showdown
( not that you would realize I've been trying to beat you for years )
Can't believe you're going rambling instead !!
Will Jez be joining you, or will I still have someone to chase on the day ?
On the bright side, only 24 months through my current 3 year training plan, aiming to be considerably stronger this time next year ( you better start getting those bike miles in )

Mike - unfortunately for Jez when Lucy decides she fancies a trip away mountain bagging with Paddy Jez has to come too so she can scare him silly ..... So we are both away, although Jez of runs 100s of miles a week and never bloody gets injured (not that I get a teensy weency bit jealous) fame has been training for the european long course and so I suspect might have the edge for the biking.
Ill go do a 10 T/T in a few weeks and then you can see that you would have won. _________________

I don't know who was more proud me or the boys themselves! Absolutely awesome performace guys already sent my report to BBC Essex so listen out. Will be doing one for the Echo too.
Just to clarify apparently a runner from Thrift Green did 2:51 so he got the silver after all and Graham gave the silver back so Graham and Steff share the bronze (they'll both get medals) as they crossed the the line together.
Sharon did an amazing 3:37 and is in London next year. Huge congrats to you.
And Andy has a GFA time too in his first marathon. Well done!
I was chuffed to bits with my gold (I don't care if they made a mistake on mine - I'm keeping it!).
Thank you Lee (who saw me when I nearly pulled out!) and for looking after my Stewart and showing him where to support from. He was grateful. Support was great as always thanks so much.
Well done to everyone and don't believe me when I say I won't do a race on the forum again!!

Fanks Ernie! Great support for BRC, Lee you were great. Alas Edinburgh is a slightly longer drive so not sure i can return the favour. What a great day of sport. Kev & Tony got bronze & silver in their 1500 as well...more Benfleet medals. West Ham done the double over the champs, didn't even begrudge Stef celebrating Spurs getting into Europe. I am more than a little pissed..tho haven't been sick like Stef..tee hee. I love my club. |

Thanks to everyone for the support yesterday, was a really good day.
Well done to the mens team and Deb for their medals and everyone else from Benfleet for being so nice and supportive- makes you proud to wear a Benfleet Vest
P.s unfortunatly my photos are not as good as Lee's. My son took about 30 in total and only 3 of those resembled Benfleet runners- got some lovely pics of strangers and the countryside though!! |

I've just been looking at the times, missed a pb by 1 second!! Ha! If I hadn't been trying to hold Stef's sweaty hand as we ran in (found a photo on the official site and we dont look as gay as I'd feared) or if Godfrey hadn't insisted on starting in front of me......
