A few peeps have on Facebook/Runners world have

I did get on initially but only got as far as the 2nd page. Probably too many are accessing the site and crashing it
Karl C

yep, site is now jammed...
Karl C

official word is

"I can confirm that we have not had anywhere near 100,000 registrations before the site and that our hosting service, Rackspace, is working very hard to resolve the issue.  Rackspace is one of Europe's largest hosting companies.  The site was stress tested to very high levels but the demand at 9am was so high that it caused the difficulties now being experienced.

The site has been unavailable whilst the new firewall is being installed (that was at capacity as well).

Sorry once again "
Karl C

Due to unprecedented demand for marathon places, this website is currently unavailable.

Please try again later today or tomorrow.

"Dear Karl Cadman,

Thank you for entering the ballot for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon

We’ll let you know in early October 2009 if you’ve secured a place - you’ll receive a magazine through the post letting you know if you’ve been successful. "

2010

Brian and I managed to get in at 5.40 this morning. Start training tonight I think, just in case.
Lee O

Well a nice Red jacket, what more could i want?
Karl C

at least it should all be club colours...!?
Mike H

Thanks for the link Pam, I can do some work now i've entered.
mike s

Well got in all done on a mobile phone no chance I guess but you never know.
Ian J

Took about two hours of hitting refresh to get through all the pages and a ref number of 134588, so if they started with 100001 there should be plenty of spaces left. At the the moment a nice red rain jacket would suit me fine  :blackeye:
Old Vic

Just got my son and daughter registered. It took about forty minutes for the two. At each stage that you get kicked out just go back to previous page at least you can then continue your application
Stress Head

Just for the record.....as Pete has announced it.......in case I am quoted by those that I've spoken to since Sunday. I have entered with the sole intention, if successful, of giving my entry to someone whose mind & body can cope with the London.

Roll on Beachy Head in October.............
Tony

cheers pam your option worked thank god amanda and i have both entered get in there!!!!!!!!!!! cheers
Karl C

The ballot is now closed
We're sorry but the online ballot for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon is now closed. If you've already entered the ballot, we’ll let you know in early October whether you've been successful.

We've seen a massive level of interest in the race this year, with the ballot closing in record time. We also experienced incredibly high volumes of visitors to the website, so we'd like to thank you all for your patience and continued support of the race.
