to mark National School Sports Week June 29th - July 3rd....As a Junior Running Club we want to do something to mark National School Sports Week June 29th - July 3rd.
We have decided to hold our very own School Sports Day (evening) on the 30th June (6pm as normal) with the emphasis on the kids having fun whilst giving them something different to do.
Instead of relays set up we will have 6 different areas of the field set out to hold mini races within our teams and rotate around each race as completed:
NOW WE NEED DONATION'S PLEASE - any items listed you can help us with ???
1. Egg & Spoon Race - woodens spoons/eggs required.
2. Obstacle Course - the usual ladders & hurdles but add some hoops to go through. We could do with some cargo netting/ ground sheets as well if anyone can get their hands on some!
3. Throwing the Welly - Clive has a couple of large wellies we can use!
4. Skipping Race - I have two skipping ropes and there are two or three in the bags. Suggest we will need a few more.
5. Dressing Up Race - large T-shirts needed with wholly hats, scarves & gloves also required.
6. Sprint Races - using the normal 60m & 100m lanes we have marked out each week.The whole group races each other rather than individually.
We also need donations of prizes (edible) if you are feeling generous !

I have a dozen wooden eggs (on order!) and 3 wooden spoons.
1 skipping rope
4 woolly hats
2 scarfs
1 pair of ski gloves
Loadsa old race t shirts
For the obstacle race I have 2 large plastic/canvas ground sheets that can be pegged down to crawl under
1 pop up childs tunnel approx 6 foot. If anyone has 1 more
My grocer was also kind enough to donate half a dozen hessian sacks this morning for a sack race.
Need more large gloves, scarves, wooden spoons and any good obstacles. We have plenty of hoops & slalom poles.
