The return of Mr MThats right yesterday at the track, the last person that I expected to turn up did. After not seeing him for a year and a half Pat made a guest appearance.
Pat did say he would return to the club when there are some nice off road runs, so we will see you Tuesday then.
Also Pat, look its your very own thread - lol

And I'm paying for it this morning with my aching thighs. lol. Actually not too bad considering. Next week I will run the opposite way round to you guys so it's not so obvious how often you're lapping me. lol.
Steve, what GPS are you using? I've been looking at the Garmin 305, which isn't as bulky as the earlier models. What do you think?
P.S. Where's Mike Jordan? Need feedback on the CANVEY ISLAND/benfleet Ultra. lol.

lol,
I've got the Garmin Forerunner 305, and I think its an excellent device.
I cant remember how much i paid for it but I got it pretty cheap last year sometime on Ebay.
It really does help with your training mate, and stops me going off too fast on club nights as I can see the pace i'm running at

The cheapest i've seen it is £138 ish. Sound about right? I need this in case I have to map out the CANVEY ISLAND/benfleet Ultra course myself. lol. Not pushing for this very much, am I?
Where the hell's Mike Jordan? Maybe he's already out running round Canvey measuring the distance for the Ultra.
P.S. We can post what we like in here, Steve, as it's an open house, no specific topics, a true 'general chat' thread. lol. That's unless Karl with a K has other ideas.

Sounds a good price, I paid more than that but with all these things they come down in price quite alot after a while.
I'm sure Mike will be on there soon
You can always borrow my Garmin, if you want to have a play about with it before you buy one, or if you want to use it to measure this Ultra run.
Thats what I thought mate, a thread where we can just post what we like

Pat, BADGER RUN on the 5th July, so I hope your going to be there and I'm not going to have to come round and drag your lazy butt down to the club

Steve, lol, give an old guy a break, lol. I love Badger Run but no hills or intervals at the moment. I've got to break myself in easy and try to avoid injury. I get the same prob as you with my shins. I'm investing in a new pair of Asics GT2120's, so I must be taking this seriously. lol. Got no idea what the GT means, or what the 2120 stands for, I just liked the colour. lol. Hope you had a good run tonight and have a good Dark Lane next weekend. They do excellent home made cakes in the lobby. Worth the trip alone.
P.S. If you go over the track Saturday (which you might not cos of Dark Lane) I'll be watching you out of the corner of my eye. And if i see you grinning every time you lap me just remember I've got a long memory.

It's not racing badgers, MM2. It's just one of those runs that when you've climbed to the top of 'that hill' you've got so much new grey in your hair you look like a badger.

lol - you do make me laugh Pat.
Seriously mate, make sure you get the right trainers, as the wrong pair can prove fatal and wont do your shins any good, believe me I found this out the hard way.
No running for me tonight as I'm doing the Race for Business in Chelmsford tomorrow (27th) see thread under Race list.
I wont be over the track on Sat as I want to be in tip top condition (hopefully) for the 5km on Sunday though I'll proberly still be in the gym Sat morning doing some weights

Sorry you won't be over the track, Steve. I've got a feeling I might be on my own as you'll all be at Dark Lane. Maybe it'll rain and I won't have to go. lol. Regarding trainers. Apparently I 'over pronate' slightly, lol, so i've bought shoes that help with this. I've also bought lightweight shoes because my legs aren't strong enough to lift anything over 315 grams. lol. I'm just wondering if when they straightening out my broken leg if that leg now doesn't pronate, so I might have to by two pairs of trainers, pronators and neutral, and wear one of each. lol. Then I can sell the other two odd trainers to a pronating runner who broke the other leg from me. lol.
Take care. Pat. x.
