Swim training.....????

When I arrived home after the tri yesterday, I wondered how much swim training I had done since buying my last 10 swim card from Waterside.

I bought my card on 7th April and have used 9 swims.

Since then I have done two Lakeside swims, the Half Ironman and Saffron Waldon Tri.

That's it.  14 swims since April including yesterdays event.

And yet I still matched (ish) my 1500m swim time from last year at the London tri on the Cambridge tri.  Did 33min at London, 34:50 at Cambridge which includes the transition.  Amazing what you can do when you're not bothered about racing and just enjoy the event..........

Hi Mark

Certainly shows that your swimming has stagnated over the last year

Just think if you'd put a little more thought into your swim training program
( As in actualy had one ).

Chances are you wouldn't have seen Lorna at all on the Cambridge Tri, as she would never have caught you.

Mind you there's a lot to be said for enjoying triathlons just for what they are ….

Far to many people get so obsessive about times, and "beating" people, that they totally loss the enjoyment out of the event they’ve entered

Long live the causal Triathlete  geek

Blimey - if I spent that little time out of water Id desicate.

In fact I am starting a tick list of great swims:
Highest swim (currently 2500m); most northerly swim (indoor Fort William; outdoor Loch Lomand); most Southerly (canberra) all the oceans (missing Southern, Arctic and Indian); major rivers currently includes the Thames (obviously) and the Seine; inland waters.  This could go on......

Geees Mark you could take 10 minutes of that time with a teensy bit more dedication

Totally off topic (sorry Mark) but Lucycat, love your new Avatar, where did you get it?
