I have started this blog so I can update you all with the news from Gary directly he texts/phones me.
I am meeting him at 120 miles (Saturday morning) and will be posting here regularly.
Phone call from Gary. He is on the train to Dudley.
Has left his important shorts that he has trained in at home
Nikki has since dropped these off to me, and I plan to take them (with other provisions) to him at 120 miles.........

Dudley, 'Capital of the Black Country'
The Borough of Dudley, located 10 miles or so west of Birmingham in the centre of England..........
No overnight news. Did get a call at 10.30pm last night. He is in Dudley, and had a surreal meal out with other runners in a desolute and deserted Dudley - what does he expect for a Wednesday night up Norf !?

update from Karl....
left Gaz at Stanhampton heading for the Lamb at Chalgrove..16.30hrs. His head is in gear. New shorts and I have popped his blisters! 75 miles to go. He is running short of time unless he picks up. But the Billericay Strider has pulled out...the wimp!
Just got the word that Gary has had enough and dropped out of the race at approx 150 miles.
He was in pretty good shape when we left him, but he had to do a massive amount of work to get him near home in time to complete the race.
I am glad he didn't go through the night on his own again, especially after so many miles.
WELL DONE GARY
a feat many of us can ony dream and have nightmaires about !
Bloody great effort, you did yourself proud.
(I will upload videos later)

Pictures and Video of Garys effort (and feet) are now in the gallery.

Gaz - a true man of steel
Whilst there has been some ribaldry about Garry Jackets' inability to get past 5 miles in training, when it came to the crunch he showed all the doubting Mikes and Ernies that he is a true man of steel, Well done Gazza, you showed 'em mate.
Previously, my club hero was always Graham Booty. But now you're my club hero too. Fantastic effort, Gary. Godfrey

Well done Gazza. Brilliant effort. Takes some guts to keep going when your feet are in that state.
