OUR WEBMASTER IS A VET TODAY

Congratulations Karl on reaching that esteemed age and finally achieving the ultimate goal - VET status !!

Have a great birthday and many more ultra runs now you are an old man!

Or take a leaf out of Tony Mead and Kevin Steed's book and become a bloody fast track runner! bounce bounce bounce
Karl C

Thanks Mate, and you promised not to tell anyone !

I can be really grown-up now.
debbie g

No I think if you recall I promised to tell everyone!!

You grown up?? Who are you kidding?? Why change the habit of a lifetime anyway? Being a child at heart is much more fun, after all I've been doing it longer than you!!
Mike Mason

Thanks for the info Debbie. Well done Karl...50 is a great age and I don't feel too bad since last december when I didn't get my 'caring club - my arse' cake......I digress.

Remember we will soon be 70 like Ernie.....

BASTARD
mikey

Think you actually became a vet 5 years ago !!!!

That's if you follow the latest "PC" old git rating system !!

Can't believe your younger than me ..... Have you had a hard life ?
Karl C

I think, Mikey it is probably because I move a lot faster than you, wears the body out quicker.

Thanks for your kind words (caring club - my arse)

and MM - it's 40 not 50 (I know numbers are not your strong point)

cheers cheers cheers
Stevie

Happy Birthday Karl compress
Hope you will be at the club tonight or are you taking it easy in your old age now compress

Is that one of your presents as shown in your avator ?
debbie g

Steve that was my present to Karl. A new set of wheels for his birthday. Built for speed don't you think?? Wink
Stu

Happy Birthday Mr Herriot
debbie g

Actually Stu I had a Herriott experience chatting to a photographer. I was talking about running and being a VET. She said it was interesting I was a VET and did I like animals then?? This followed a comment I had just made that all women over 35 were VETs. I bet she wondered what planet I lived on !

Anyway the truth is out - Karl has been caught with half his arm up a cow's backside today.

Poor Karl it shouldn't happen to an over 40...
mikemoreton

Karl,
Quite confused over your age now, so Happy Birthday anyway!!!
Many more to come

Regards

Mike
Karl C

Thanks MM2, I am officially 40 today.

Apparently 40 is the new black...
jacklarge

Happy Birthday Karl,

You are officially 165 days older than me (he he) but no doubt will kick my (caring club my) arse on Sunday even though you've run an extra 7 miles 'warm up'.

A true veteran of the road (veteran not vagrant).

See you at the club tonight.

Cheers,

John (youngish Vegetarian of the road)

Happy Birthday Karl

officially 40... officially what does that mean?

Stevie

I thought Karl was 50 today - lol

Ernie

If I'm 70 years old and you (Karl) are 50 years old that makes me still old enough to be your father...
This is quite unsettling ....
Happy Birthday you old Codger.
mikemoreton

Karl,

For your info i got 6 years on you, but thats about the only thing you wont catch me up on..........oh well PB's await MM2. Watch this space
Karl C

"officially 40" means that is my real age, and not the age MM1 thinks I am. The trouble is in Hockley they still count with beads, and I guess a few have fallen off his abacus.

Thanks for all the kind words. See you all at the start of the Southend half. You'll notice me as I'm the idiot who ran 7 miles to the start and will look like I have been pulled thro a hedge backwards...!

Don’t know what I’m more shocked about :

The fact that I’m 1,465 days older than you

Or

That the club didn’t provide a cake for you / us on such an important date

Still consoling myself with the fact that I’ve been conclusively proved your superior

On the plus side we do share the same star sign ….
So you too can be considered “One bead short of an abacus”

For your information:

We’re ruled by the plant Mercury: Symbol of Communication !

Mercury, believed to be the messenger from the god’s
Governs intellect, communications, wit , writing, and diplomacy

So stuff that up your pipe and smoke it ……
Karl C

Age doesn't matter, unless you're cheese.
Karl C

Old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternatives.
spokey42

Mikey. Your mother must have lied about your date of birth. Those astrological characteristics certainly don't apply to you! You were in fact born the following December, but she wanted to get you in to the previous school year because you were such a pain in arse.

And to MM2, don't worry, Karl's been confused all his life. He's still trying to work out why his sister's got two brothers and he's only got one. (Maybe a bit subtle that for most of you!)

Anyway, Karl will be making the usual excuses about a slow time at the Southend Half by hiding behind a 7-mile warm up run. It doesn't fool anyone, Karl. You can now bask in the comfort of the Vet-zone - slow running with an excuse. As old Ernie and Gazza have demonstrated, when the speed goes the only way to get any recognition is to run ridiculously long distances. I understand you're doing the Marathon des Sables next year!

No offence meant anyone, except to MM1. I love you all, especially Karl who looks more and more like Mark Ramprakash every year. The only exception being that Mark is much younger, wealthier, more handsome, a better runner and doesn't know Mike Mason. Lucky git!

Debbie

Isn’t it about time you renamed this thread ?

Our “Webmaster became a vet yesterday” would work
though might become a little tiresome editing every day

Maybe we could call 07/06/07 “Official Webmaster Vet Day“

How about arranging a street party for next year WVD +1

Should get a sub committee working on the details straight away
debbie g

Haven't you heard of Groundhog Day?

Or a bit of deja vu?

Hey reaching 40's a special day we should celebrate it every day for 12 months, wow just think of all that cake....

What do you reckon Mark Ramprakash? Tango anyone?? (no not the orange drink...)
mikey

A Groundhog thread ….. Brilliant idea

Mind you, could have picked a better day, rather than Karl’s birthday

But then again …………

Fruit Cake anyone ?
