Norwich Half Marathon 29/11Anyone else thinking about doing this one?
This event was first staged in 1985 and so this year marks our 25th anniversary. It's a UKA / BARR Gold Grade event, which means it's organised to the highest standards recognised in the UK. In 2008 nearly 2,700 signed up to take part and we hope that number will rise to around 3,000 this year.
Previously held on a variety of courses based in Norwich city centre, we moved the event to the Norfolk Showground in 1993 and it's been there ever since. The race is now run on a rural two-lap course which starts and finishes within the Showground itself and follows a reasonably flat route through the villages of Easton, Colton, Marlingford and Bawburgh. The course record currently stands at 63mins 59secs and last year's race was won by Matthew Janes from Bedford & County AC in 65mins
