Well done to all of you who took part in the London Tri yesterday.  You were all brilliant.  Special praise to Graham who we think came  second in his wave.  And a special well done to Anna who had to drop out through sickness mainly because she was trying so hard and doing so well until then.  Also congratulations to Lorna and Mark W   who did a tri at Ely and had awesome races.  Hats off to  all.
Ian J

Thanks for all the support during the day, it really did help to see so many people cheering during the day. I finished 10 minutes faster than the best time I thought possible  cheers
mikemoreton

Well done to you all!!
Andy F

Just want to second what Ian has already said, the support was fantastic yesterday. It makes a real difference when you are starting to feel tired. So thanks to all of you.

I really enjoyed the whole day, looking forward to the next one now.
Cheers

Those look some very impressive results well done all especially those doing their 1st Olympic distance.

Can't read Graham's position Mikey was he 1st? And is that the position in your wave not overall?

Sounds bloody impressive whichever it is.  cheers
mikey

Hi Debbie

With regard to the results …

Think it should be congratulations all round

Well done to our first time London Olympic Triathletes :

Andy
Morgan
Toni
Ian
Kirste

Excellent result from Graham … ( 1st in wave )

6 minute PB’s for both Caroline & Myself

And a special mention for Anna

Although totally gutted about not being able to finish, she had an excellent swim, and cycled really hard.
Has defiantly laid down the foundation work, for a storming 2009 race.

A Special thank you to all our supporters …
It really does make the day for those taking part

I got comments on the way round from fellow competitors, noting how many people knew me on route.

Just show’s how effective the support was.

London Tri 9th & 10th

What a fab day - the only downside being the wind, without that I think I would have got under 3 hours - but hey, there is always next year.

Thanks all for the support and also to my fellow competitors encouragement on the way round - it certainly does make all the difference to have people shouting your name! Stopped me walking too!

Next stop - half ironman..................really must stop drinking!!
gmike

Excellent results there, superb. Well done everyone  cheers

Thanks to everyone who came to support, and you guys that took part, you were all amazing, well done! big thanks to Bobby and Brian who came to my rescue in the St John's "waiting area" with some much needed comfort and reassurance..even the St John's woman believed Brian was my Grandad!!!

Despite being devastated about having to stop after about 200metres of the run and crying intermittently for the rest of the day.. I have now accepted that sometimes there's just nothing you can do to change the circumstances around you..a bitter pill to swallow! I'm really pleased for everyone else, some awesome performances, especially Kirste who has blown away her demons of open water and put in a great swim, very proud of you.

One thing's for sure...it hasnt put me off, I've already entered for next year...Unfinished business. I agree with Mike, this is a fantastic event, I recommend it to anyone up for a challenge, or anyone simply fancies trying not to drown in the thames!

PS....apologies to girl I crashed with..she came out of it a lot worse than me, it's the first time I've seen someone fly over the top of their handlbars AND mine...very dramatic and I'm sure would have looked spectacular in slow mo (she's fine by the way).

Roll on 2009...
mikey

Hi Anna

Great new's about 2009 ....

Trust you've entered the Mixed Olympic again

Could well be the first on the list ... Unless anyone know's better ?
Andy F

Nice one Anna, I have just joined you for next year. It would be good if we can get 15-20 people in next year, I know there are a few of you looking to give it a go. So what are you waiting for?
Andy
Anna Spanner

I agree Andy, there must be a fair few of you who must be slightly intrigued surely?! Its an awesome atmosphere, a reallly challenging sport, and we all had a great day, and that's without the after race drinks down the hoy! come on all...you know you want to. Kirste's definitely going to enter, we talked about it tonight.

Oh and by the Way Andy...are you sticking to your word about doing a middle distance????
Andy F

Hi Anna
Definatley up for it, just let me know what event you and Kirste are going to enter and I will join you.
Just promise me we will not go for post race drinks that day and start talking nonsense, like entering a full Ironman.
Cheers
Andy

London Tri 9th & 10th

I'm in for next year - entered before my hols, just in case 2 weeks doing not a lot changed my mind!!!

And Andy and Anna - I seem to remember agreeing to do someting a bit bigger - was half iron man mentioned? Really must lay off the vin blanc!

Yes up for it - but not too hilly.............
Morgan
