3 out of 4

3 out of 4 aint bad.

It was in Kent, it was in the moonlight and it was a challenge !

So much so that we were not allowed out for our final lap due to the high winds, rain and blown down trees on the course.

25 miles in 4:10, gutted but we are all in one piece, if a little muddy !

Pics up soon, as we got home at 5:30am !!

Well done to all you moonlighters! I think 25 miles is quite enough anyway!

You are nutters but congratulations to all of you!
mArKw

Well done to you all. Next time ask for better weather. Like snow.....

Thanks peeps, I am a bit fed up that I couldn't tick-off my first Ultra in my "2007 things to do list" Sad but never mind.
The wind on the drive home was exceptional, so I think it was the right decision to call it a day.
60 runners in the middle of nowhere with just head-torches to their name wasn't worth risking their safety.
I believe two trees had already come down on the course.

I was hoping to add the Benfleet 15 race to my list, but where am I going to find a spare number now ?

Smile

Never mind, I will have to marshall after all.
Karl C

Some kind soul did a short video of the Moonlight Challenge, and I think I just about spotted our group at the start...have a look on this guys blog site.

Reply to Lucycat

I really dont think you would have any trouble doing the 50 miler except for maybe it would be a little boring.

I will probably come down for the 50 miler and do a few support laps with some of you Guys but wont enter as I will probably be recuperating from my big one earlier in the year.

Well done to all ! I was surprised that no-one looked particularly tired afterwards.
Karl C

If I have to buy an iPod, doesn't that make me into a "recreational jogger" ??

Confused
runningman

Wink Ernie, thats because after the race started i slipped back to race hq and sat in the pub for five hrs !!!!!!!!!!!!
Ernie

Runningman, you should have let me know you were at the Bar as I would had a popped in and for a couple of quick ones during re-fueling stops !
