Come on everyone get on the Echo website before Friday 19th and nominate Benfleet Running Club Ladies Team.

I hasten to add this was not mine but Tony Mead's suggestion but come on lets see our ladies up there in the top 5 - to do it we need as many nominations as poss so please all go online

Winners of Essex Way Relay, Essex champs Gold medalists at 10k, gold at 10 miles, silver at half marathon, bronze at 20 miles, winners of team prizes at Mersea 10, Billericay 10k, Ingatestone 5 and 1st and 3rd team at Southend half marathon. 2nd team at Southend 10k and Essex PB 5. Ladies team currently standing 2nd in the overall team positions after 4 races in the club's first ever season in the Essex Cross Country League, bronze medalists in the Essex Champs Vets x country and 1st team in the 1st 3 races of the South Essex x country League including taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 2 of the 3 races.

Correction to my above post - we took 1st and 2nd team prizes at Southend half.

Louisa reminded me last night that the half marathon results at the race presentation were wrong and the silver medals they were awarded were subsequently upgraded to Golds - sorry everyone here is the correct stuff to put in the nominations

We did it - we made the top 5 nominations for the Special Achievement Award in the Echo today for the club as a whole not just the ladies - thanks to all those who nominated us.
