Eastleigh 10k

I can't keep this to myself it is so exciting - Stacey Ward was 1st lady at this race today with a massive PB time of 33:57

That's just awesome running from Stace she's just flying at the moment.   cheers  cheers  cheers
Pammie

Oh Wow that is excellent

Well done Stacey

Thanks guys, for once I'm satisfied (apart from the chip gun saga!). Heard you've done 3 races in 4 days Pammie, very impressive!
Graham

Get in Stace. That is seriously quick. Can you get injured before the club champs please - us old boys have delicate egos.

Haha -hopefully no injuries for me any time soon..unless you go stamping on my feel again Graham! Have some new trainers, tempted to take out a restraining order so you can't ruin them!!

Superb time.  To put that into some kind of useless context, I had been looking at the times from the London 10k 2008 earlier this week.  The time is a mere 43 seconds shy of Liz Yelling's effort when she was in form for the Olympics - and Eastleigh is not the easiest of courses.

Graham - I think 1st Male is the best anyone else could hope for!

I had the pleasure of running wth Stacey for the first time last night and she nearly killed me! Just had a squiz at the Powerof10 online and her 10k makes her 5th fastest in the country for 2009, bravo!
Stevie

That's amazing Stace, us humans can only dream of 10km times like that  :faroah:

Well done Mike for surviving the session with Stacey, you both went zooming past me and disappeared off into the distance quite quickly on Tuesday  compress
debbie g

Ah Steve as I was running with you Tuesday Mike and Stace must have flown past me too but I can't remember seeing Stacey - guess she must have been a blur...

And yes Mike hats off to you for hanging onto Stace - I too have had the privilege of running with Stace although it was on her easy days while I was gasping for air and Stace has paced me in races twice which have been some of the most enjoyable runs I've had (well afterwards after I'd recovered from her pushing my limits!).

I too had seen Stace was 5th in the rankings - I guessed it was pretty high when she told me her time and I knew she'd be challenging some of the country's top runners' times.

I have sent a report on Stacey to the Echo that I hope they will print tomorrow.  I don't think Basildon do enough to sing the praises of the ladies who run 2nd claim for us and in my book Stacey deserves recognition for the outstanding athlete she is - and we all love Stace at Benfleet because she has no airs and graces she's always got time to congratulate us mere average runners when we achieve a better time - her text to me after Blackpool marathon and the things she said then were the among the most flattering comments I received.

As Keiron says the Club Championship is going to be a one horse race barring injury and the restraining order I already have prepared to prevent Graham attempting to nobble the opposition!

Aww thanks Debs, always enjoy running with you and will never forget that 8 miler along the creek when we caught you but couldn't shake you off after that!

Don't want to get carried away on the rankings, unless I improve on that time it will probably end up outside top 20 by the end of the year!

Mike - I think you mean that literally, I must stop talking so much and causing near death lampost collisions!!

well done stacey really good time , i can see ill have to work hard to challenge you.
and yes debbie your right about basildon , cant comment on what theyre like now  but when i was a lad there was myself , rob and a few others doing well. let alone eamon martin and the rest of the senior mens team . and we all barely got a mention , to be honest i dont think there was anything ,only time i can remember is an article by the southend club on the 10k.
certainly needed you around then debbie , lets hope they dont try and do a transfer
