Discounted bikesJust thought i would post to make sure everyone is aware of this scheme,
www.cyclescheme.co.uk/general,index.htm
If you can get your company on board you get some great discounts. Take a look at the calculator on the 'what can i save' page and see!
(have been told no one actually checks to see if you use bike for work or not for 50% of your time as stated on the site)
Hope it helps.

Bah, my company says they will not run this scheme due to the low take up and high admin costs in other large companies. :angryfire:

This is rubbish (re low take up and admin). Admin is minimal simply loan employee dosh and put in deductions and pay invoice to bike provider. We have signed up with Evans Cycles which is easy.
There is no downside here as if you want to spend more than the 1K loan limit you can and you can include any equipment for cycling to work ie hat, brights, lights etc (eqt is only with a bike). Our HR guy convinced me it was worth buying the cheapest bike to get the discount on the clobber but I keep thinkingabout a top of the range Womens specific Triathlon bike for work of course!

The other good thing about this scheme is you should use the bike for 50% of it's use, not 50% of your journey's to work.
So you can buy a top end Tri bike you only use for 3 races a year, then 3 trips to work and you have covered your responsibilities, (that you don't have to keep records anyway) :blackeye:

Thats a shame Ian. Maybe you should get a few of you together and hassle them some more, some companies just cant be bothered !
