Current predicted Shortfall In Jogle FinancesThanks to everyone who turned up to the Jogle AGM last night….
There was a lot of discussion on the current predicted shortfall in finances for the jogle …. ( which did get a bit confusing at times )
I’ve attached a brief summary of where we currently stand, for everyone to discuss.
A Quick Summary Of the Jogle Finances
At last nights Jogel meeting Clive produced some very detailed costing’s, which I won’t go into details again here.
The Bottom line was we are looking at a total cost of £13,000 to run the event
With the current predicted money to be raised standing at £4,500
Giving us a current shortfall of £8,500
The figures were based on the following :
17 runners doing the whole event
33 runners joining at some stage for 3 nights
If we brake these figures down into accommodation nights, we get the following :
17 runners x 15 nights = 255 nights
33 runners x 3 nights = 99 nights
Giving us a total of 354 nights ( accommodation / fuel ) to finance
To break even we need to divided the current predicted shortfall by the number of nights to finance
£8,500 / 354 = A shortfall of £24 per night
One of the questions raised last night was ….
“Would the runners be prepared to match any shortfall in funding for the event”
This currently would stand at £360 for 15 nights for the full event, and £24 per night for guests.
There were a lot of good fund raising ideas mentioned last night,
So I would hope the actual shortfall per night would be considerably less than £24
Obviously, the more effort we put into fund raising, the smaller the possible shortfall will be
I would be prepared to say today that I’m going to raise as much funding for the Jogle as possible, but will also make a commitment to fund any shortfall per night.
If we can all make this commitment, then we know the event will be financially viable, and can push on with the planning with confidence.
