Crown to Crown - Good FridayPhew - straight back from the race, quick report and then shower lunch and sleep i think !First time I've done this in 18 months and my memory wasn't playing tricks, that last mile virtually all uphill is a killer. Still, pending official time that was over 2 mins faster than before in around 22.40 so quite pleased. Splendid turnout, the numbers got to around the 200 mark. I am particularly interested in how the dog got on....no I'm not being rude, there was literally a dog with a number on (accompanied by owner i should add) still going down the hill as we were all coming back up. Good Benfleet RC presence - Adam C, Charlotte, David, Tony Tobin, Matt C (all ridiculously fast at under 21.00), Peter A, Sarah, another couple of ladies who I don't know, sorry if I missed anyone out. Well done, well organised, good fun run with loads of youngsters out on a lovely day....

i did 19:13 (47 secs pb), adam 19:45 charlotte 20:15 and matt did you say 20:59 or 21 ?lovely day my ..... the wind on the hill at the end and it was quite warm as well

It was lovely going at my pace....time to smell the flowers and really appreciate the scenery 
Great time, well done. If it was on the finishing hill I think your wife might have taken one of me although i was trying to get out of the way thinking she was after the bloke behind me.....could have been someone completely different of course....! |

Well done to everyone today. Really enjoyed this little course. Quite impressed with the turnout, was only expecting around 50-60.
Happy with my time about 20.30, awaiting official time. |

http://pitsearunningclub.org.uk/ Well done all....it's all gone Tintin, David Thomson was first Benfleet runner home whilst David Thompson was just behind Charlotte hence the placing of my post earlier....how very odd. Snowy the dog came 206th out of 209 just ahead of Captain Haddock.....actually looks like her name was Sherry which is a shame for all you Tintin fans who would get the joke. 
The other ladies from Benfleet were Sarah Formosa and Sue Fuller. There were 7 'youths' ahead of me...including 11 & 12 year olds, blimey that is impressive and good to see. Well done to the organisers, lovely run and all for £1. |

Those all look like really good times considering the terrain. I forgot all about this one, wish I'd been there as it looks like it was a lot of fun.
I see that Crispian Bloomfield won it - I had a chat with him at the St. Clare's 10k (which he also won) and he said he was thinking of retiring! |
