Crown To Crown - 13th May 2009Congratulations to Charlotte who had another fantastic run last night to retain her 'crown' from last month.
Counted only 6 BRC vests, all with good performances, and was thinking on the way home that this event would be ideal for any of the growing masses of new members looking to start racing........It's a short, local & well run event. There's no pressure (ideal for Stress Head's) and great for those that seem to run better of an evening. Every age, (so no babysitter required) and ability is catered for with not only your quality club runners but a lot of unattached first timers.
You can set your own goals.........mine is to get round quicker each month.........so far so good as 30 seconds quicker last night compared to last month.
Details are always on the club notice board.........so come on newbies, take that first step!!!!

Well done to Charlotte again and also Pete for running this race after the Halstead marathon.
I can thoroughly recommend this event. Good competition for all levels of runner, nice course, nice atmosphere and its only a pound to enter.
Next one is 10th of June I believe.

well done all especially pete after halstead and charlotte after the bluebell.
and great to see nick getting the better of crispian bloomfield , maybe hes back in form ?
couldnt agree more with sarah , these races are great, easy going and so cheap to enter on the day cant see why more benfleet runners dont run them. would have done it myself but i need the extra day or 2 to recover at this stage.
a very similar event is the summer series races over at the langdon visitor center. its got steeper hills and is generally much harder but has the same sort of laid back beginer friendly feel.
ill be there for the 1st one next tuesday and i think the next crown to crown
