Thanks Sarah, I believe you knocked a few seconds off your pb too, well done.

Pleased with my race position but not my time.I  never saw the first 2 once we got into the woods, 2 miles in I managed to take a wrong turn, hit a dead end and lost valuable time.Should have taken my own advice eh Mr Briggs!  Will have to wait a while now to beat my c2c course PB!

Hi Sarah

We left the race in a hurry and didnt manage to find James's time but he's just found out and he is chuffed to bits and I am sure I am not going to hear the end of it now as the 'gap' between mother and son is now more of a chasm!! But I am so proud of him.

Thanks again for pacing me round the course, that was the least irratic crown to crown I have ever run and actually quite enjoyed it as a result and well done to you too, how many PB's is that now this year.........i've lost count!!!

Sarah xxxx

Serves you right for being so cheeky! Still, best position by a Benfleeter this year in the C2C i think, well done! I would have run but I was up in Watford running the 1500m at an open graded meet. Guarunteed a PB being my first time at this event. Targeted 4:30 and ran hard for 4:28.59. Lots of elbows in the race but very enjoyable none the less (minus the burning lungs, arms and legs).

Top running from little James, one for the future.

ha ha
trying to work out where you could have gone wrong jez as its usually pretty well marshalled  , but then ive been further back in the pack where theres always someone in front.still remember mr bloomfield getting lost in his own clubs xc so your not the only one.
well done to james and sarah on those pbs

oh and mike well done on the 1500 , still not as fast as my steeplechase pb for the same distance :occasion9: but theres probably loads of improvement to come.

Karl

Rob Peacy & Jason McCarthy also ours. And there was another young Benfleet man who I didn't recognise but had a vest on?????

As for the PB, the official results had me as 1 second PB but according to my watch it was 8 seconds........apparently it took me 12 seconds to get across the line which is rubbish. But hey, even 1 second is the right side of my goal of being faster each time I do it!!!! compress

Doesn't get any easier though, still go off too fast and die in the final drag of the last half mile or so!!!

From what I hear Jez 'had' to do well in this to compensate being thrashed and beaten by one Stacey Ward. Hrmmmmm 8 x 800m with 1min recoveries. doesnt seem so long ago when  Jez started me on those. OK it took me 6 inutes plus to do each one, but I did them ALL. I was told not to give up. So, Mister Mancer, practice what you preach, you young whippersnapper.

By the way, I'm now doing 800mins in 5 mins approx.

All good fun

Lots of love

MM2

PS Thanks for your words tonight coach.
Jez

Ha Ha MM2, I knew I was in for a bit of a kicking with the Wardinator, 2.32s were Killers, but in order to improve you have take a pasting once in a while and Stacey sure managed that!Glad your times are coming down, a few more pbs this year then?

David, I went wrong at the point approx 2 mile where you turn sharp left and almost double back on yourself. The marshalls for some reason were round the corner.I shouted that it would be a good idea to move, to which Dave Staines apologised!! I think he was only there as a spectator.
