ok ok Karl a cheap way of telling us all we had forgotten to congratulate you. Profuse apologies and you join a talented list........
david thomson

well done Karl :hello1:
JBD

Congratulations mate !  bounce
Karl C

No worries - you hadn't forgotten, as I hadn't told anyone (being as modest as your good self Mike)

But, did want to remind everyone that it is a talented list and club members should be using their coaches more

(have a sneaky feeling if you had maybe you would have done MB at the first attempt..??)

Thanks anyway.
Mike Mason

her hum..I deliberately waited until the Mont Blanc race was the hardest.... compress
Karl C

You taken that jacket off yet ?

I've been considering the merits of coaching for a while, conscious of being under-committed left to my own devices.
Does it cost ?
Do I just say "I want to do 10 miles in sub-70, and I'm only going to run 3/4 times a week, give me a training plan' ??

How do I go about it sir ?

Absolutely not !

Simplified, yes.
Basically any Coach will need as much info from yourself as possible,
what you want to do, what you can do, and by when and yes, we can come up with a user-friendly training plan for you.
Obviously, all this needs to be 1. achievable, 2. realistic...etc. (the normal SMART requirements apply etc)

Hope this helps.
JBD

Ok, well I'm guessing I either e-mail one of the coaches or do a general appeal....everyone seems to be an Endurance specialist but I dare say some have more of a leaning to speed than others.

I'll do a request on my 'How long...' thread since I've neglected it for a while.....

Cheers Karl.
Karl C

Steve, do either.

Email a specific coach, or have a chat down at the club with one.

For the record, the Endurance Module, which we have all done covers distances from 800m up to the marathon and beyond, at all speeds and abilities.
Pammie

Congrats Karl

Good luck Steve I'm tempted to try this route as well, not the sub 70 10 miler (well not yet) so far i've used the MIUAYGA method (thats for those who don't know make it up as you go along) only barriers are my shift work and approaching the busy christmas time)
Mike Mason

26.2 miles - endurance...hah!
Karl C

sorry, endurance running as opposed to shuffling over the mountain tops with your flip flops on for four days...

no offence
Mike Mason

none taken..... cheese
JBD

Equally, 800m = endurance ??

Well I suppose it depends how fast you're running....!

Ok then Mr Cadman....shall we talk about a programme to turn me from an also ran to the world beater I want to be ???  bounce
