canterbury halfHi guys while checking out the web site saturday i noticed this race and as my son is at uni there dicided to give it a go.A great race really well organised and marshalled with over 1000 runners.the only problem is that right from the start you are either running up or down hill im not sure there is a flat mile on the whole race and the hill you have to run up after 10 miles almost brings you to a stop so not a race to do if you are looking for a PB.Im not sure where i came yet but ran in a time under 1.29 i think nowhere near my best but basis the course im really pleased(feel i have now put my marathon dissappointment behind me)

Hey well done Graham cracking time on what sounds a really tough course. I am glad I didn't bother to do this half then! Sounds like it's in the mould of Hastings yuk!
Do you have a link to the results or can you post here when the results are up please Graham?

Well done Graham, was wondering if anyone from the club was doing this. Half toyed the idea of running this last night if they were doing late entries. Sounded like a tough course. So very well done indeed

Well done Graham
Under 1:29 for HALF MARATHON a great effort in my book!
Don't put so much pressure on yourself and just enjoy the running.
Two working legs, sunshine and lollipops!
Good effort sir, you have put this on my radar for next year.

I did this one as my first race (or should I say Run with others) last year and yes it was very hard. Hill ok going down very different going up, postman pat type of race I would say for the south. Graham great time very fast on that run, well done.

Well done Graham, hope you will be still in fine form for this afternoons stroll with Colin and myself , as I'll need someone to drag me around after this mornings 9+ trail run in Hockley.

Hey well done Graham and thanks. Did I warm up Ernie nicely for your afternoon run? Yes it was me who accompanied Ernie on his 9 mile trail run.
I am just trying vaguely to keep up with you guys. I thought I might get an advantage as Ernie was handicapped - he was wearing his backpack!

Graham according to my reading of the results you were 4th in your age group not 7th!

Hey Graham you make the headline in my Echo piece today! That good enough compensation for London now?
Bit of literal poetic licence in the headline (which I don't write by the way) as I'm not sure a road race really qualifies as a "trail" but then that wouldn't have the same appeal as a Chaucerian play on words!

thanks debbie the first i new about the piece in the echo was when my mum phoned me all excited that her little boy was in the paper HaHa

Love it!
Mike thanked me for his "whole sentence" in the report when I saw him at track today. I told him he needs to run a race with a quirky name and he might grab the headline next time!!
