The last 5 along the front finishing in Madeira Drive. Could be like Hastings Marathon without the hills?

Travelodge Brighton Hotel
165-167 Preston Road
Brighton
East Sussex
BN1 6AU

is within walking distance of the start. I have booked a family room, Friday Night/Saturday night already, as the 1000 pre-entries went in the first day so expect this will get banged out for booking hotels, etc. it is flexible so can be cancelled if we find anywhere cheaper/better and more inkeeping with a jolly-boys-outing type event.......(also it is a family room so have got room for a small one in my room if I am not taking the family)
Pammie

i kinda entered last night too

Well Done, any more. Could be a wild weekend in Brighton....
Andy Hibbins

I'm in
gmike

Karl,

I've booked a room at the same Travelodge but went for Saturday / Sunday.

I'm thinking travel down Saturday lunchtime in time for the fetish ... I mean PASTA party Saturday evening and then book the room for Sunday to shower and relax/collapse before travelling home, as the checkout time would be while we're running if not.

I may have the option to stay with friends in Brighton but I've booked anyway just in case

Karl C

OK, I did have that thought as well - but think I will just jump in the sea at the end...

Ahem....I have entered this marathon on the basis that it my old home town and a good reason to get all the family cheering me on through me old stamping ground.....no travelodge for me, home comforts and a full english breakfast, jog to the start, quick few hours and home for tea and medals !

cheers
Stress Head

Just booked the Travelodge too for Saturday & Sunday.

A double room in the hope that Pete might be talking to me by then or survives another marathon build up with me!!!!!! scratch

I'm in!

The main factor is that it has got to be less than the £8 a pint that I had to pay in Paris this year.

Perhaps just this one and hopefully Budapest in October if Andy Frith is still up for a non  EU country - the beer is definitely cheaper!

Where is Big Phil?
Don't tell him where we are staying!!!
boabmac1

Macmillan and wife ( and kids ) are in the Travelodge!

Lets get this party started - 290 days to go!

The chef from Donatellos is mentioned in Runners World this issue, so should provide suitable nourishment.

Hmm....26.2 miles...blooming long way.
It was alright when I was training.
Did my first run in almost two weeks this morning.
A steady unimpressive 5 miles.
I'll be back....soon....ish !  compress
Stress Head

Go Tracy!!!!..........see, not even a week has passed and you are already doing nutty things!!!!

Sarah
Karl C

yep, but I do think she has help...
Stress Head

Probably in the same position as Pete...........if ur going anyway..........what the hell.......may as well join in!!!

Anyway Karl, you should know living with 3 women, that if we don't want to do something then we won't!!!!!
TracyB

Hi Sarah, didn't you know it was my idea originally?  (Wink here.. can't find a simple emoticon when I want one). Phoned him and said 'do you think I can do this, it's just come up on Runners World..' . He suggested I might not have the time to train, then posted on BRC, got people signed up before I even got home! Lucky for him there were still places left by the time I got on my PC! Perhaps I'll let him defend himself....

Hi Karl, I don't need help.. I am mad as a box of frogs anyway (apparently)   :kermit:  But Brighton's my fave place, so it fitted in well for me (plus already put in ballot for London so could do both yet!).
gmike

I was only after a dirty weekend in Brighton .. the old 'running a marathon' one works every time :love4:
Karl C

Just as a heads up, ref: Travellodge bookings :

I have just re-booked a family room for Saturday night, and Sunday night seperately and took advantage of their Saver rate for the Sunday night. Booked for £ 118 total, and then cancelled my flexible rate I had already booked for 2 nights for £ 146.

More money to spend on pasta !
Karl C

Entries for the inaugural Brighton Marathon on Sunday April 18th have now closed, with over 11,000 places sold. However, in early November, a limited number of entries will become available.
