Mike, still not out of the woods with the shin injury yet, I've built the runs up from 10 minutes at 8 min mile pace to half an hour (as of tonight). Only been running again every other day for the past two weeks. I'd say I'd be around that for the duathlon, under coachs orders, maybe a little quicker in a race environment!
Been out on the bike quite a bit for the last month but again, a relative newbie. Up to 30 odd miles.
First time I've ever thought about a multi event and I'm realy looking forward to it. Hope the wind blows itself out by the weekend though! _________________ www.iamstet.blogspot.com
If it helps, I did a 4.5 mile run yesterday at 7:20 average with one mile at 6:50's.
Bike to work is about 17mph average for 25 miles.
Mikes will be about 4:59 pace for the 5k, 25 mph on the bike stage and sub 10 minutes for the two mile finish. Hope this gets taken into account for the handicap system? Oh, and he's borrowing jez's bike!
Ignore Stef, he's trying to sabotage me! I'm on a road bike an NOT Jez's! I run 4:59 miling for 5k only in my dreams and I really have no clue about how fast I am on the bike since I've never really pushed myself and timed it. So probably best to use your best judgement!
Less of it Tracy! I put a cheeky swim in this morn, even managed a length without the armbands. I've got a sneaky suspicion I might find my tires bladed in transition... oh jeez, transition.... how do you do that??
Oh no, he's mentioned the transision word!
Your messing with my head now Mike!
I'm bringing the mankini to race in!

It's like this.. Run, stop running, helmet on before you touch the bike, change into bike shoes if you wear them, get on your bike cycle! Then get off your bike, park your bike in transition, change shoes again if need to, leave helment by bike, run. Simples... anyone can do it as long as they don't mind messing their hair up
Am not taking part (well jel) as got a race Monday... but should be there to support
Just want to say a big thankyou to Mikey and everyone involved in making today a fantastic event. Really enjoyed my first multi event!
Brilliant supporters too, you helped like you wouldn't believe on that second bike lap!
Congrats to the winners and all taking part, that headwind was brutal!
Great buffet, good social and loads of happy faces.
Roll on the next one!

I totally agree with the previous comments. A fantastic morning, impeccably organised and lot of good food. Well done everyone! Today's highlight (apart from that lovely Danish Pastry!) has got to be Ian's dramatic sprint finish which certainly got the crowd going - brilliant!
I would certainly recommend it for next year. _________________ London Marathon 2005 2007 2009 20??

Hi all,
Just to say what a great intro to a multi event race.
Fantastically well organised.
Great atmosphere.
Lovely buffet.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
It makes me feel proud to belong to the best running club.
Thank you.
p.s. I agree, the Danish was delicious.
again thanks mike and all those involved.
well done to all who took part , that wind though not the worst was a killer, if you werent strong on the bike it would really kill you off. i went far to hard on the bike trying to get under 40 mins and had nothing left for the 2nd run but fortunately i had a big enough lead to hang on.
great buffet afterwards and thouroughly enjoyable day out.
Really enjoyed the event
Despite the fact that I forgot my cycle shoe's so had to watch from the sidelines
Big thank you to my mum and Caroline for doing such a good job with the tea's
Bobby excelled herself as a time keeper ……..
A job which got very hectic when there where runners both finishing the final run, and in transition from the bike to run at the same time
Thanks to Ian for marking out the road for me the week before, and checking my handicap results
Thanks to Peter W for providing the water and cups, and especially to the Emmett family for doing such an excellent job manning the water station
But most of all a big thank you for everyone who turned up
We had 57 people taking part, plus family and supporters
A fantastic atmosphere, with everyone mucking in to help
Fantastic Buffet as usual ....
Finish Time & Handicap results to follow some time today
Full Run / Bike / Run splits to follow latter in the week
