Hi Bobby,
The race starts from 8am, Ian has listed the proposed swim start times for everyone. Once on the bikes, people may be passing the pier towards Chalkwell around 9.15 onwards. The run finish is at the start of the pier and Ian estimates that people should start finishing from about 9.45 onwards.

Jez Mancer - have you been a bit cheeky with you swim estimate???

You missed Sharon G as well, she'll be starting towards the end of the field, if she finds her goggles.

Bobby,  I was planning on cycling down there to watch the race and then do some open water swimming. High tide is around 11.00 so I'll probably train after the event if anyone's interested. I plan to drive my van to a spot on the seafront near the pier nice and early, run home then meet up with anyone who wants to cycle there at around 7:30am at Benfleet station. Hybrids and mountain bikes as we'll be going over the downs.

Well done Sharon, excellent result. Sorry I didn'y get there to see you but after a very hot run, felt the need of a nice cold shower.  Great effort from all who took part.

I managed to get a brief chance to support as I was in the last mile of my long run when Graham and Kirste called out to me at the transition point and I took the opportunity to sit and watch Sharon and Anna come through.  Sharon was really impressive up the hill and Anna responded with a highly suitable response (which is unrepeatable) to Kirste's encouraging shout to her of "loser".

Well done Sharon that's an outstanding result - and looks like son Joe is following in your footsteps after humilating me with his sprint finishing at track yesterday!

Well done to all who took part it was hot out there today.   compress

Well done to everyone who completed it.  Especially well done to Sharon.  How on earth did you manage to run up the hill at the start of the run?!  My legs were shot!  First lady is fantastic.  You did us proud.

Jez - see you can do a triathlon Wink

Anna was sick on the bike - not sure if it was at the start or when she spotted Graham supporting with his top off.

Thanks to those who came to support.

So that's why Sharon was sick after we went swimming the other day - she was just being polite when she blamed it on the waves.

I'm off to the gym then....watch out Arnie!

Ian - I've been away so haven't seen you in all your glory in Mondays echo - mind you, got to see them in the flesh!!

Delighted with my time - that's 5 mins quicker that any previous sprint distance so the spin classes must be working - was it 21k on the bike?

Are we going to get the splits, does anyone know?

Oh - and and did I mention that I beat Mike J?

Toni, you had gone but I did mention the factthat you beat Mike on Sunday and the information was greeted with delight as you can imagine. Once again the girls are victorious.

Just seen the splits and me thinks there maybe some data entry issues!!!!?

Daniel Grant trained with us for a bit prior to the triathlon and I can confirm that he definitely was not 2.50 minute miling in training and had no intention of trying to hit that on race day! I suspect he also did not get lost along the pier.................

Anyway, good job all round, cant wait for the next one! Why cant they ever make those kinds of mistakes with my times...
