Haha thanks Ian - I should be seen until about 3k but sadly lost the lead group after that.....
Slightly upset there was a mess up with my kit so I wasn't wearing the full England stuff - it hadn't arrived by Saturday in the post (I was under the impression I would get it at the team hotel anyway!) and they didn't have everything there so I had to wear an old borrowed top not the new proper Engand stuff. Should still get it though at some point I hope...! |

Hey Stace you better hassle them for that kit you have earned it. Congratulations on getting an England vest Stace it is just an amazing achievement we are all so proud of you. Can't imagine why you passed up the Essex Way Relay for running for England!! :blackeye:
I am desperately trying to stay awake to see you in action tonight as I have been up since 6 am to watch that other Benfleet international Tracy storming around leg 2 of the Relay. I am hanging in there Stacey... |

....although I guess you dont need me to point out that if you'd pulled up your compression socks up and run 1.2 seconds per mile quicker you'd be £150 better off this morning? No, I didn't think so.
England vest Stace - that's priceless. |

Wow well done to Pammie and Debbie for staying up, did not expect anyone to I didn't! Recorded it so will catch it later.
Thanks Graham, yes well aware of the prize money loss thank you! I initially thought it was £200 down the pan which would have got me a small Chloe bag/purse but with just £175 that doesn't cover it anyway!
I had a wopping 87 seconds to cover the last 400m and get under 34.30 but badly underestimated the hill....it was literally uphill the whole final 400 and got quite steep. Coming into the last 200m it was like slow motion.... I could see the clock ticking up 20, 21,22 and by that point knew it would require Usain Bolt's speed to be in the money unfortunately!
I was sharing a room with Tegla Loroupe which was an interesting experience! She sleeps all the time.
Really disappointed not to get a pb and go further under 34 but it was tough running solo from 3k and just not to be. Fantastic weekend and experience though and I discovered the best/most random chocolate muffins are available from a market stall in Sheffield town centre!
Thanks for the support
Stace |
