Anybody fancy doing this? It's on the Saturday
Could be part of a good weekend. Track session in the morning. Fell race (3miles, 814' climb) in the afternoon, Dark Lane 5K/10K on Sunday. Perfect.... OK maybe not the track and the fell....
It's over in Chingford, and it's entry on the day only. If anybody wants to go, let me know and we'll car pool.
Mark

AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!
Why does this have to be the day before my target race?
Bloody typical.

Steffan, hi. Where the hell have you been? Postings got so low that karl invited Pat back for Muldoon part2..and we can blame you for that!

'Aight Mike!
I've been a busy boy!
Fitting in training like a madman for some shorter races, lifting stupid heavy weights at the gym and I'm in another band who have just recorded for a demo but a good ol' hardcore punk label from right here in the U.K want to put it out as a 7" release and a cd!
Once the tracks are myspaced I'll give ya the link!
I for one am glad Pat is back on the forum. Now all we have to do is get him back running, the abuse shouting factor is way too low in this club!

Quick report
Great little race. Starts about as far down the main hill as it was possible to get in a residential street then, out into the woods. The race then runs around this hill, few ups and downs, before climbing back up to the summit to finish. Because of the weather this year, a lot of the paths were tight as the vegetation had grown more than normal. Recent rain had softened the ground too so it was more like a muddy cross country in places.
Someone said I came 14th, although looking at the number of people at the finish I think I may have been a bit further behind than that. Had to stop and retie my shoelace at one point and had a massive stumble when doing a banzai run down a hill, so lost a little time on the run.
If there's no other races clashing next year, it will be great to get more Benfleet runners out and run what is a summer cross country race. With a hill or two.......

Bl**dy hell, I was 14th. Full results here

I didn't scream 'BANZAI', Dave. Maybe I should have done and borrowed Steff's natty headwear......
Oh, I forgot to add. All runners had a couple of bottles of beer given to them at the finish. You definitely want to do it next year now, don't you? _________________ The hills are alive........ |
