Anyone wishing to meet up for a lift to the race or just wants to make sure they get to the start line, we're meeting at 9.15 am at Tarpots opposite the snooker centre.

Please turn out if you can, we're 3 out of 3 so far but can't afford to take it easy. You're club needs you !! :thumbright:

Good luck all, let's keep up the winning theme! Did a session over that big field on the course today & it's muddy! Spikes should be fine even on path sections.
Apologies I can't make it, still it means more cakes for everyone! Hehe bom

i finnished (though i may be out of next weekends race...........)
think we must have won today , thought we were doing badly on the 1st lap as i was 3rd scorer just outside the top 10 but i think it was jez that came storming past in the last mile and it turned out there was a new bloke in non benfleet kit ahead aswell.from what i saw the ladies looked well up there. thanks for all the cheers on the course today really helped.
oh and the organisers caused a bit of controversy by telling us to go up the 1st path which some of us did but alot of others went round the longer 2nd path  he he he !

Congratulations to everyone running today - another fine victory for Benfleet.  I've sent full results to Karl to post.

I would just like to say WE CAN'T BE BEATEN!!

We now have 20 points and Thrift Green 15.  If we are last and they are 1st in the last race we'll still win!

But no resting on laurels we want 5 out of 5 so looking forward to seeing everyone at the last race.  Winning team gets a photo in the Echo I've booked a photographer.

And looking after the photographer will mean I can't run the last race after all guys...sorry Graham, Jez and Tony I'll just have to be a supporter gutted though I am to miss it   cyclops

I almost had a rash moment of thinking about running today after my 18.93 mile warm up run to One Tree Hill but fortunately the madness passed.   :blackeye:

Yes Dave 4 men in the top 10 Graham, Tony, Mike Briggs and Jez.  Ladies 2nd, 3rd and 4th so we were a clear 75 points ahead of Billericay Striders who were 2nd.

Good run today Dave well done you were well up the field.

Thank you Bobby - I'm speaking as a supporter here.  I might add Benfleet support was noticed again as when I ran into the carpark fresh as a daisy (yeah right!) after my run to the race I was greeted with Benfleet applause.  A lady from Barking RR had spotted me running in Benfleet (apparently she thought I was running fast - hmm could only have been down Bread and Cheese then!) and recognised me and commented that she realised I must have run all the way there from the Benfleet applause.

See even the race supporters get support at Benfleet  compress

well done to all today, what a lovely course, haven't seen mud that bad since the grizzly last  year. perfect weather for the day and a good introduction for a few people I know are doing the Grizzly in 3 weeks.

Ladies, my hat off to you, as always superb running, a resounding romp against the rest.

well done to the guys, a good turnout and a good race.

Godd luck for next week (even though we've already won  compress )
I won't be there, I'll be in Brighton with Sarah doing the Sussex Beacon Half but we'll be thinking of you.

Tony was asking whether any club has won the League by winning all 5 races before.  Clive remembered Barking doing it.  Well I've checked and Pitsea did it twice, Billericay twice and Thrift Green twice.  Barking also did it as Clive said in 1996/97.

So we need to be added to the list as we haven't done it before  compress

So no turning up and just running for the cakes and then the Echo photocall guys  :blackeye:

Excelllent pics Ian - only criticism is they are better than the ones I chose and inserted into the Yearbook last night so I'll have to re-do them!

Ian can I ask a favour.  I've just heard from the Echo that they cannot send a photographer because South Weald is not on their patch - don't go as far as Brentwood!  But they have said they will definitely print a photo if I send them one.  I need someone with a good quality camera to take a team photo at the end (and if we get any top positions some good action ones of our runners).  Would you be able to come along and do some photos for us Ian?

If you take a cracker I'll even get you credit for your pic in the paper!   compress

I did get my photo from Benfleet 15 printed but my camera is not top quality so I'd be happier if you could do them Ian.

Ooo as for looking after your camera Dave I'm pretty safe to do that as long as I don't have to run the race - Jez please note... colors

If you can get somebody else to take photos that would be great, as I was planning to do the Little Havens training run next Sunday.

If not I could run on Saturday and come along on Sunday

Oh I don't want to mess up your training Ian - no worries we'll cope either with me wielding Dave's camera or my own.

If anyone else wants to come and take photos though to give me a choice of the best one to use please come along.

How about you Lee?  Fancy being club photographer again?

And warning in advance all you winning ladies and gents I want you in Benfleet vests so you'll have to shiver till all the scorers are in - mind you with the quality of the ladies that shouldn't be any wait at all  compress

Haha those two blokes in the photo are guys I train with at Basildon when I make it down there - James in the hat is a 1.51 800m runner, very swift!
