Just wanted to say thanks to Clive, Graham, Peter Jnr, Peter Snr, Ken and last minute recruit Adam for looking after us today.
Special thanks to Lyn for the hot chocolate and biscuits
I'm so glad I'm not running that tomorrow!!
Even my aches have achey bits

I have to agree with Mike, you can just turn up and run, knowing you will have the support of water stations, snacks and a lift back to the start.
The hot chocolate at the finish was a welcome surprise.
Many thanks to all the supporters _________________ Whad'ya mean "Run fat boy, run"? I AM running! |

To be honest I think we got off lightly as a good majority of the surface water was frozen.
There were some major expanses of water on the downs involving some nifty twists and turns but unfortunately the odd freezing cold booty was unavoidable.
The notoriously muddy bit just before the castle was a small lake.
Anything else that wasn't wet was muddy!
I may have come off slightly worse as I only had road shoes on (clenching for 2 hours does wonders for the pert buttocks though!)
All in a days work for BRC
There was one rather dodgy bit on the concrete path around Canvey Heights. Take care ... V slippery if frosty tomorrow. |

Ooo yes Mike I remember sliding on the black ice on that concrete sloping section one year myself. Ah thanks for the low down - wanted to know in advance for when I interview the poor exhausted winners on the finish line! They all love me!!
Why do you think I was out on the road doing my 17 miler today?! Not a wet toe in sight for me!
