MM2 - some results are missing for many reasons

you are not on the official results
you are not listed as BRC
or I missed you, etc.

just email and I will update the missing ones.

Lee - correct (I see now) so will update list-email me.

Ian - no Tri's (sorry) - after all "this is a running club"

This is only a bit of fun after all.....

No tri's? Surely the run leg should be counted. If we were a swimming club we'd count the swim yes? Just trying to be fair, the 52.4 extra miles I'd bank have no influence at all on my opinion!

Yes, you are correct and we should include all running activities...

I bank an extra 1 mile per day running for the bus....

blackeye

Apologies to all those who have two entries, each with a different spelling, I will correct and re-publish later. Anyone else with missing races then please email me...cheers.

Running for the bus is a race then is it? Get's media coverage does it? Maybe it's on after the Channel 4 triathlon coverage on a Sunday morning.

Feel I have to point out .... We're actually a Tri club as well

Affiliated to the British Triathlon Federation

http://www.britishtriathlon.org

As such Triathlon achievement should form part of the BIG LEAGUE

Thinking about it

Shouldn’t the club Triathletes get bonus mileage ?

They train considerably harder than the lightweight single discipline members

They have a boarder athletic ability

And they tend to be incredibly modest about their achievements !!

Surly they deserve some recondition

How about doubling, or maybe even tripling all Tri mileage

I agree with all the comments, and feedback.

But as I said, it was only for a bit of fun and was primarily something for us
"lightweight single discipline members" to aspire to.

If any one else wants to add even more data from the Tri events, then please email me and I will send you the database.

I should really rename it the Karl's Big lightweight single discipline members League.

Apologies to all the Tri members, and those also in the knitting circle.

Hi Karl,

Excellent work, I love stats. and 84.7% of my friends do too.

You missed out my magnificent Crown to Crown debut performance in September. Also, the Langdon 5 was actually 4.5 miles - I know I know, but it makes a big difference, most of the others will be a lot closer to their advertised distance !

Cheers

Steve

cheers Steve -

you are forgetting that you get bonus points for losing your jacket in the club house..(it would have been triple points but alas, you didn't come on your bike)

cheers

Unbelievable !!!

You get double points for being absent minded

Yet months of dedicated training for the glory of the Tri Club get greeted with derision

Still as triathlete’s we need to rise above the dissention of members who lets face it, have barely mastered the skills of putting one foot in front of the other.

Let alone, learnt the art of not drowning, and the not inconsiderable skill of rolling along a road admiring the view

.
.

Was thinking of adding “Triathlete of the year” to presentation night

Any nominations ?

never derision Michael, mock humour always, but never derision.

I actually think you look quite fetching in your wetsuit...may even start Triathlons just for the PVC....

being purely devils' advocate in this whole thing, the phrase

"jack-of-all-trades - master of none" comes to mind.

Absent minded ??? Hold me back someone, surely everyone knows the saga of the lost jacket ??? Every time I stand there in the club room, my gaze is drawn towards that little area at the end of the desk where I left it. Sigh....

And I wouldn't do a tri-athlon, with my luck I'd be standing there like the loser in musical chairs wondering where my bike got to....

I tried a Pentathlon once, but the horse drowned in the swim. Maybe I should have used one of those water polo trained equines. The archery was OK but the arrows destroyed the dartboard.

Karl, if you're offering double points for absent mindedness, can I put forward my 2007 training plan which shows that I totally forgot about training until 3 hours before starting the London Marathon?

If Triathlons don't count ...

How about Duathlons, last May at the club duathlon I was so wet I thought I was swimming at one point cheese

How do I propose changing the club name to Benfleet Running And Triathlon Club
BRAT C

or

Benfleet Running Ultras & Tri's.... BRUT

As it looks like only single discipline events are going to be listed, if the club has 205 members and assuming nobody would want to leave during the year.

176 members entering at least one race is a good result,

Can you list the numbers entering each distance to see what is the favourite distance to run?

Of course, only running results should be included. This is Benfleet RUNNING Club. What people do in their "spare" time is entirely up to them - such as drinking, rambling, pie-eating or triing.
If you feel so strongly about triathletics, then b*gger off and join a tri club because this is a RUNNING club. We should drop the tri-section altogether and concentrate on running. The exceptions to all this are Graham Booty, Caroline and Sue Fuller, who can be in my club any day!

That poor old Spokey is a bit of an old misery isnt he?It seems to me that his dislike of triathletes is deep rooted and I think the clue is in his name.Im guessing as a young man, the young spokey had himself a nice gleaming bike and added the finishing touch....some spokey dokeys! Not long after another cyclist came along and stole his spokey dokeys. The young spokey gave chase but alas could not keep up. Spotting the youths hairless legs he vowed to he would make it his aim in life to belittle the achievements and merits of triathletes under his nom de plume...Spokey 42.

Jezz, I think there must be some other deep seated psychological trauma as Spokey was never young...........................

Karl ……. You’ve obviously got to much time on your hand’s

Is that not Mr Spokey on the packaging ?

He seems so young, and care free …..

Could it have ever been so ?
